Question about HP Photosmart 2610 All-In-One InkJet Printer
Color prints are distorted with a heavy pink hue. The cartridge is reasonably fresh and the printer reports no errors.
I would suggest removing the ink cartridge (careful because ink is permanent and if it gets on your hands it's difficult if not impossible to get off) wear gloves if you have them. Fold up a paper towel several times, soak it in a shallow pan of water and set the cartridge on the paper towel for a couple of minutes. You want to set the copper looking thing on the paper towel just for a couple minutes. Then remove it and place it on a dry paper towel ,that you have folded up a few times don't wipe it blot it with the dry paper towel. When it is dry set it on another folded up paper towel and press down slightly and you should see three distinct colors on the paper towel. Of course it is the color cartridge you will be doing this too. If you don't see three distinct colors appear try the procedure again and if it doesn't work after the second time I would return the cartridge to wherever you purchased it. Good Luck.

Tips for a great answer:
Problems with Hewlett Packard Officejet 4355 printing can often be due to issues with the cartridges. The printer has two cartridges, one black and white, and one color. Both can be physically inspected for problems. The printer also has a self-test report to determine if there is a non-obvious problem with the cartridge. The report can provide valuable information, including status.
Take the black ink cartridge out of the slot on the right. Be careful not to touch the ink nozzles or the copper contacts.
Look at the cartridge and make sure that the plastic shipping tape isn't still attached. There shouldn't be any tape covering the ink nozzles.
Replace the black cartridge and then perform Steps 1 and 2 on the color cartridge. The color cartridge is the one on the left side.
Print a self-test report. Load paper in the tray and press "Setup." Press "2" and then "4." The HP Officejet 4355 will print a report. Make sure the lines of color extend across the page. Missing, faded or streaky lines can indicate a cartridge failure. If the color bars don't show as black, cyan, magenta and yellow, you should clean the cartridges.
Press "Setup" and then press "6" and then "1." The print cycle will commence. Allow it to complete and then print another test report. If the test still shows errors, replace the cartridges.
