Contact the authorized service center for Sharp. Your TV need a through checkup. Allow the trained engineers to do it, without making any guess, and do something to make things worse.

Cant seem to get the spliter thing to work properly for internet and cable tv

One port on the splitter is the "input" port -- it connects to the cable wall-jack.
Two (or more) ports on the splitter are the "output" ports; connect one port to the cable-modem, and connect one port to your TV (or Digital TV Terminal).

Note that some OLD splitters are not "two-way" -- any signals going "out" from the cable-modem will not get "through" the splitter to the wall-jack. Be sure that you have a NEW "two-way" splitter.

Horizontal lines across screen picture going fuzzy in and out and then no picture at all

A horizontal line that rolls from the bottom to the top of the tv could be a Hum Bar. This is from a bad ground either for the house electric system or for the cable system. By code, these grounds are supposed to be connected (bonded) together. In other words, the electrical interference is going through your tv instead of into the ground. Fuzzy picture is usually from low cable signal. This can be due to bad cables, connections, or splitters or problems outside with the drop (cable line outside that runs to the house). Splitters, by design, lower the cable signal (i.e. a 2 way splitter cuts the signal in half). If you have unnecessary splitters you should remove them. If you have more than about 6 or 7 tvs, you may need to add an amplifier.

My tv says channel 3 blockedd by autolock tv rating tv-pg access code

This is the best solution for your problem as a 40 year experience with wires etc. Go to the source of your cable signal connector . Open it and clean the terminals with emery paper , sand the end of the cable shiny clean from corrosion , get a new barrel connectors with gold terminals if possible lengthen the ends of the cable , insert and tighten good, use thick rg-16 or rg 40 cable with good insulation ends crimped professionally with a crimpier or buy ready made , not from dollar store. Get a gold plated professional splitter if you need one or two , it will cost about 15 or more each . Make the cable runs as short as possible, using the thick good cables. If needed get a signal magnifier. From radio shack or the source etc. Connect them good and tight . Ground the splitters . Problem solved , you will get crystal clear channel 2 to 7 including 3 and 4 . Isolate the TV cable from other cables and power wires. Vitally

Tuner problem?

This is an indication of a bad ground connection. Since you have replaced the cable and splitter, it suggests an internal grounding problem. If you can solder and can get to the tuner, resolder the ground points within the tuner and update this with the results.

D52w20 cable question

You were trying to use the wrong type splitter. You need to call your cable service to find what type would work with your TV. The spark you saw was the difference in ground potential between your TV set and cable network system. The cable company MIGHT recommend a good commercial diplexer, but they usually get real touchy about useing outside devices on their systems. It would be best to have them do the installs

Cable TV connection

Hi, A couple of possibilities: 1. Line loss, some of the cables might be too long, shorted, loose ground, not connected right; 2. Splitter - passive splitter, you might be better off using a distribution amplifies (with gain control pref); 3. RFI - TV interference from external sources. Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things are or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.
