Heater settings not working on 04 scenic 1.4 how do you take off centre panel

double posted. ok
the FSM covers this, doing it and not causing damage is no so easy.
Plastic breaks so easy.
some parts are pull off and others are screws.
you only have 3 choices.
1: pry and try.
2: practice in a wrecking yard,
3: read the FSM (alldata.com under body section)

not only that ,, some have heater damper motors or vacuum slaves.
the fsm is here.
click the body and HVAC sections.

How to access/replace the vent selector(defroster) ?

buy one
and install it.
it has clamps remove them or unsnap them and .....
access? its in the dash.
the FSM covers all HVAC work , you can get that and read it
or hope that ALLDATA.com covers R&R for the cables.
but will cover access. (huge job on some cars)
working on the dash with out and FSM invites more broken parts.
plastics.
hidden screws and such , and how to get to them are covered in the book.
here is the control panel, pasted

Removal & Installation
  1. Remove the upper console panel.
  2. Remove the instrument cluster finish panel
  3. Release the 2 fitting claws and pull out the heater control assembly.
  4. Using a screwdriver, open the claw of the cable clamp and disconnect the defroster damper control cable. NOTE Be careful not to bend the cable wire. If the cable wire bends, the heater control assembly operationally becomes worse.
  5. Using a screwdriver, open the claw of the cable clamp and disconnect the air mix damper control cable.
  6. Disconnect the connector, remove the heater control assembly. 42050_coro_g0008.gif Removal and installation of the control panel
To install:
  1. Install the inner cable end of the air mix damper control cable to the heater control lever.
  2. Install the outer cable of the air mix damper control cable to the cable clamp. NOTE Be careful not to bend the cable wire. If the cable wire bends, the heater control assembly operationally becomes worse.
  3. Operating the heater control knob and check that it properly stops at both ends of MAX. COOL and MAX. HOT and no recoil is identified.
  4. Check that the outer cable should not be disengaged (moved) from the heater control assembly when the cable is pulled.
  5. Install the inner cable end of the defroster damper control cable to the heater control lever.
  6. Install the outer cable of the defroster damper control cable to the cable clamp.
  7. Operating the heater control knob and check that it properly stops at both ends of FACE and DEF and no recoil is identified.
  8. Check that the outer cable should not be disengaged (moved) from the heater control assembly when the cable is pulled.
  9. Connect the connector, install the heater control assembly.
  10. Install the instrument cluster finish panel
  11. Install the upper console panel.

My fridge part of fridge/freezer doesn't work

Post the model number of the refrigerator. Defrost freezer behind where the cold air circulates with a hair drier. (unplug power first!) Most times when a refrigerator side stops cooling it is because the freezer evaporator behind the panel in the back of freezer (most times) has become blocked by frost=> SEE PHOTO Most times the panel before you see the frosted covering the evaporator will begin to show a layer of frost building=> SEE PHOTO (Click each photo to enlarge.) Sometimes the fresh food section of the refrigerator side will warm because ice or frost will block the damper from moving that regulates temperatures in the fresh food section. Sometimes the damper is defective and sometimes the sensor that controls the damper movement is defective. For these reasons it is important that you provide your model numbers so someone knows just what type refrigerator you have to cover all of the possibilities of what may be wrong causing the warming of the fresh food section and soon the freezer section will also begin to warm. The most likely cause are the defrost control, ADC Adaptive Defrost Control, defrost heater, defrost thermostat, air damper and air damper sensors in that order. Let me know what you have and I will try to identify just what may be happening, Thanks Sea Breeze

I have a GSS25PSMF BS refrigerator. The top two shelves are freezing food near the back. Do I have to replace the damper or something?

Yes, you will need to replace the Fresh Food Cover Inlet Assembly. A link to the part is below for your convenience. If you need removal instructions, please let me know. The new part will come with installation istructions. It is pretty easy to replace as it is replaced as an assembly.

I have a side by side unit. The freezer is working but the refrigerator is not getting as cold and i have it on the coldest setting.

Your model has an auto damper=> 61005971 Auto Damper Click here for=> Auto Damper Test
The part is also called => Damper Control Assembly
We will need to do the Auto Damper Test first and if fails replace the auto damper. Let me know what you find. May appear hard to do but once the part is removed it becomes easy. Click Here=> Auto Damper Location Part number 8 in photo is the auto damper. They have a thermostat bulb that controls the air to fresh food section. If that thermostat goes bad the door may stick shut or full open causing these symptoms. If you need more help please ask and I would be happy to walk you through the process, Please Rate if this helps and ask if the damper is OK. In that case we may have a defrost problem restricting air flow, let me know and I will instuct you on how to solve that. These dampers fail an I feel it is the problem yet so many different things and appliances anything may be possible, I will help youi solve this either way! Thanks, Sea Breeze

I Have a sharp microwave model # R1874. On the control panel, when I press the start button, the microwave runs for 59 seconds then stops. I have to press the start button again to have it run again. It...

That would be a problem in the damper assembly, either a bad switch or motor, or the damper door is jammed or blocked. Consult the attached diagram for general reference. The damper switch is the same as the primary interlock (door) switch.

zjlimited_813.jpg

Its location varies by model, but you'll have to take the outer cover off to find it.

The best place to order Sharp parts is Tritronics or you can call them toll-free at 866-779-5835.

If you only need a switch, you can order a universal type HERE

Also, I quote other similar solution...
I had the same problem. Turned out to be the micro switch and damper motor. I replaced both myself and fixed the problem for less than $40.00. The best advice I got was replace the switch, reconnect the motor and make sure the motor runs through a damper door cycle. It didn't run, even though it showed continuity and had power, so I replaced the motor which solved the problem. The micro switch which is activated by the cam on the damper motor has to be cycled within one minute, or the unit shuts itself off. The damper motor on my model R-1870 is found in the right rear section of the assembly when facing it. You have to remove the unit, and remove the outer casing to get to it. The damper is a simple sheet metal door, activated by the motor, and the switch mounts at the top of the motor and is activated by the same cam that activates the door.

Good luck.

My side by side fridge has stopped chilling down, the power is Ok, and moter seems to be working, but no cold inside. A few months ago the freezer side stopped, but as i did not use it , i just left well...

. Cut everything off for a few minutes then turn it back on and listen for a click from the compressor relay as the compressor tries to start.
Is the compressor motor running. If no check starter/overload relay. Check to see if the condenser fan at the back underneath near the compressor is running. If no check fan.

Are the condenser coils near there warm or room temp. should be warm

Is the evaporator fan in the freezer running. It blows cold air into the fridge side through a damper in the wall between the freezer and fridge. Make sure the damper is open.

Below the evaporator fan is the evaporator coils. Remove the back cover in the freezer to observe the frost pattern. Light frost everywhere(NORMAL) or a partial pattern of ice(LOW ON FREON) or nothing(LOW FREON OR COMPRESSOR PROBLEM).

I have two problems with my 1994 Chevy Silverado: 1) As soon as I turn the key on or immediately after turning the truck off I get a clicking sound from my heater blower area. As near as I can tell there...

The clicking noise is from AC/heater damper gear which either recirculates the inside air or channels fresh air from outside the vehicle.. When you first turn ignition on the the PCM tells the damper to open allowing outside air into the vehicle.. It does so even if it is open. Here's the kicker. If it's open then the motor that turns the gear that opens the damper will stop rotating causing the electrical current to increase. At this point the PCM will see this condition and stop the process. However, if you have a broken tooth on the gear then the motor current will not increase and the motor keeps turn and the teeth on the gears keep clicking until it times out. About a minute. You can replace the gear box it is located by the blower unit. or you can do what I did and cut the wire going to it and put it on a toggle switch.
