SOURCE: the phone won't switch on. I put it on charge, then when I disconnected the charger I found that the phone was dead and won't switch on. I've tried removing and replacing the battery and SIM but it's

There might be 2 reasons for the same.

1. An internal Ic might have been blown. In this case, you need to open the cell. Remove the battery. with the help of a Voltmeter, check the voltage across all IC's. The blown IC would be a bulged or seemd to be swelled.Replace that and the problem would be fixed.

Even if you repair it from outside, it would not hurt your pocket.

2. Motherboard - If this is at fault, you might need to pay around half the amount that you spent on cellphone. It's really hard to fix and more likely demands a replacement. The main disadvantage, you cannot use motherboard of some other cell. It has to be a unique one i.e same model.

Note - I am considering that the battery is fine and fully charged. If not sure, swap the battery.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Sony ericsson died and wont switch on

It's likely that you need to reflash the phone software to your phone. You can do this yourself [detailed instructions and files at] or just do it at a phone shop or through an online site like Da Vinci or Wontan.

But something you should try is to remove the battery and take out your SIM / memory card and then let it sit for a bit before you reinsert the battery [withouth SIM / memory card] and restart the phone. Hopefully that'll work, if not then you'll probably have to reflash the phone software. But you could always check by doing a software upgrade using SEUS [Sony Ericsson Update Service offered for free here -

OK ali,
the red cross on the battery sign means that your battery is "dead".I highly consider replacing it soon, because when your battery dies there is a high chance your screen will go blank when you turn your computer on.
I have looked it up allot, and I have not find a solution to fix this without money, so i had to replace my battery.

Samsung u900 limited service

Is the battery fully charged now???

Limited service, is when your not getting any reception, Samsungs usually always get low reception or no reception at all if the battery is low or dying... Remove the sim card, reinsert it into the handset, charge the phone and try again...

If it still doesnt work and the sim card does work in other handsets, its still covered under the Samsung warranty if its less than 12 months old.
