Question about Health & Beauty

1 Answer

We have had Solar panels installed from Solargain on our roof, to cut our electricity bills. We were quoted a price and before signing the contract, asked if there would be any extra costs. Were told the price on the contract was the only cost. Asked if there would be any costs to the electricians who were doing the installing, again were told no, just the contract price. The salesman took measurements and photos of our meter box and sent these to his boss. We didn't sign then, as we wanted to think about it. A few weeks later we rang the salesman to say we would go ahead. On his return visit, we again asked about extra charges and were told no, just the contract price. Asked again about the electricians and were told they were covered in the contract price. Asked about the meter box and were told, no that is fine....photos and measurements were sent to his boss, who had okayed it. We then signed and once we had were told the only price was the contract price. The electricians came, installed panels on roof, then when they went to put the switch in the meter box, there wasn't enough room. They told us it would cost about $600.00. I rang the office and jason said...no, thats not right, the guys have worked it out. I assumed that meant no extra. We then received an Invoice for nearly $800!! I rang and Jason denied telling me that things had been worked out, said I should have read the small print, but there is nothing on the Invoice to state things could change. He did say they would give us a $150.00 discount. (The electrician took that off his account.) When Horizon Power finally came to put the new meter in the box, they couldn't. The box was just too small!! I rang the company and spoke to Jarrad, who informed me that there can be extra charges and when I told him we had asked this question severaltimes and each time were assured the only price was the contract one. He got Jason to ring me and I was told they would give us a discount of $160 and to just pay the electrician $600. I haven't paid a penny yet. Horizon Power came back and told me we would have to get a new meter box. I was so angry, I sent an email to them, as I couldn't talk to them and have not as yet had a reply. The electrician rang me two weeks ago, to tell me we have to have our meter box replaced at a cost of $1,200.00, but will give us a discount of $200.00. Consumer Affairs tells me to make an official complaint, but I can't find the form...where do I go from here?

SOURCE: Intermittent lack of full charge

It's the holiday season - take it back to where ever it was purchased and tell them you got it for Christmas and you would just like to exchange it for one that works. They have a 2 year warranty, if you want to go the hard way. You won't need a receipt, or a box. I spoke with Braun Customer Service and they advised me to just take, the one I had, back to the store where it was purchased, and get a new one. This is a great time of the year to exchange it. The Braun Customer Service number is 1-800-BRAUN-11. I'm glad, I just exchanged the one I had, because, my father says it's the best shave he has ever had.

SOURCE: electric pre payment meter problems

deary me , my first instinct would be to contact a lawyer or the CAB, failing that this a link to the energy ombudsman paste this into your browser address bar
http://www.energy-ombudsman.org.uk/links/9-0-faqs.php

some meters do have a built in log that can be read by specialist equipment , if this is possible it will show them how much electricty youve used since your entry date ( get copys of your rental agreements for dares etc ), usually a fee is payable if your found at fault ,

i hope this helps , if it does please vote

SOURCE: Shaver was running slow and then died. Replaced

Your original symptoms sure sound like dying batteries. Brushes can wear out. Check if it runs better if you change the orientation of the shaver. Does holding it upside down make it work better or worse? If the speed changes, its probably the brushes. You can buy new brushes, but the Norelco repair place will probably give you a hard time since they want to repair it for you so you have to insist. I have made brushes for the shaver by filing down brushes from some other motor, but this is messy and doesn't always work.

What about solar attic fan? Are they trustworthy?

A solar attic fan may reduce electricity bill by reducing conditioning system workload, prevents moisture buildup and mold in your attic, and increases your roof lifetime.
It is easily installed, it also doesn't need to be tied into your electrical grid, it does not need additional circuit breakers, and you can install it without a licensed electrician -

My Brother is getting screwed by a Sun Power Solar. They installed a system over 9 months go and the system has never produced any energy. It was installed incorrectly. Who can he tell?

Is there a contract that was signed? There should be something- even warranty. Where does it say he can't take it down? That might be where it says something about the system having to work. That's why items come with warranties. They should cover their work.
I would start by going over all the documentation, especially the fine print. Look for anything that could help.

Should people invest renewable energy?

While it's fairly easy to fit solar panels on your roof to generate electricity - and save money - investing in funds that hold the wind and solar firms offers more of a challenge.
It sounds like the perfect investment. Equip your house with solar panels and look forward to dramatically reduced utility bills and the potential to earn a handsome return by selling any excess energy to the electricity grid.
Thousands of people across the country have already embraced this idea since the government introduced the Feed-in Tariffs (FIT) Scheme in April 2010 to encourage the uptake of small-scale renewable and low-carbon technologies.
Greg Shreeve, the insight manager at the Energy Saving Trust, believes getting solar panels installed is a no- brainer for many people. The potential benefits to be enjoyed, he argues, more than makeup for the upfront costs.
"The technology pays for itself within 11 years and will go on generating electricity for your home," he says. "It's a great way to actually start making money when energy prices are rising. It's free electricity and low-carbon technology, so a winner all round."

Hello -

It may depend upon where you reside. In some locations, electric power companies have boosted their rates for those with solar power panels.

Solar battery charger

Yes, but the efficiency of solar cells is terrible. Its one thing to use free sunlught to charge the cells, its another to have to pay the electric company to do it. If you can access the batteries in the solar rig easily and they are in the correct voltage range, I think you would be better off getting a battery tender (trickle charger). Just let the van sit outside until the batteries are fully charged, then connect the battery tender to keep it fully charged.
