Question about Video Game Consoles & Games

1 Answer

Playstation1 games I just got some used playstation 1 games for my daughter. I have both a ps 1 and 2. when i put the cd in i get the standard starting playstation page. eventually the sound comes on but there is no change in the video screen. If i press start the sounds tell me the game is starting but there is no change in the video. This happens with ps 1 games in both my ps 1 and 2 consoles. When i put a ps2 game in the ps2 console it works fine. Help....... pleas......

Playstation 3 will read sony 2 games and standard dvds no problem but when I put a ps 3 game in it doesn't want to readl. If I keep putting it back in it sometimes reads but not usually.

This means that the system is encountering a serious error. The laser that reads PS2 and DVD media formats is different to that of the blu-ray laser. If the system was unable to detect the blu-ray media it means that it was faulty and you have to contact Sony supporting your location to have it fixed.

your cd laser has become weak. depending on how comfortable you are with taking apart your ps2 and possibly damaging it permanently it is possible to turn the power up on it.

Playstation2 disc error

I can't be for sure, but I believe it's just the lens. What happens is when you put scratched discs into the system, the lens "self-destructs" itself attempting to read the scratches. Hope this helps!

Ps2 keeps saying disk read error everytime disk is put in no matter what disk is put in what can i do to fix

  • Confirm the disc is inserted correctly into the PlayStation 2 console (label side should be facing up when the PlayStation 2 console is in the horizontal position).
  • Confirm the disc is clean. To clean a disc, use lint-free cleaning cloths made specifically for cleaning CD/DVD discs, sold at computer software stores. When cleaning the disc, we recommend starting from the innermost circle, and wiping out to the edge in a straight line. We do not recommend wiping in a circular motion, as it may create more scratches on the disc. [Note: Other materials, such as a paper towel or a T-shirt, may also scratch the disc. If there are any scratches, smudges, or fingerprints on the disc, it may not function properly.]
  • Try playing different CDs, DVDs, and games on the PlayStation 2 console to see if the problem exists across multiple discs.
  • To determine if the problem is with the disc itself, try playing the disc on a different PlayStation 2 console (or a PS oneTM or a standalone CD/DVD player, if applicable).
  • Confirm that you are not using any game modification devices. Unlicensed devices such as game modification devices can interfere with the proper function of the software. We do not recommend the use of any game modification devices or unlicensed products[1].

Ps 2 chipped

I have also envountered problems with dogs life, my only reasonable explination is:

dogs life is most propably written on a normal CD-R,

and sometimes a chipped PS2 struggles to read CD-R games, you will also find that older PSX games wont work either, hope this is of some help.

have a blessed day.

Ps 1 made in france

You need a mod chip to be able to play copied cds. A non modified ps1 will only be able to play original non copied games
