MISTAKE! I was looking for a wiring diagram for a Stiffel Floor Lamp Candelabra 3 Candlestick Hobnail Brass Base Torchiere. Somehow all responses went to Projection Televisions! I'm interested in the floor lamp - NOT televisions. Thanks! Newbie - am I missing something?

SOURCE: WD-52525 Lamp failed 2x in 4 months..is it the Lamp?

Having the same problem with the dim picture on my WD-52525. Had the lamp replaced and still had a dim picture. My authorized dealer has been in contact with Mitsubishi Tech Support and they are thinking it's the optical engine (light engine).

If you think the replacement lamps are expensive, wait till you see the price of the optical engine. My dealer told me they run around $750.00! If this is the problem, I'm hoping they will cover it under warranty as the TV is less than 2 years old.

this is a crt type tv- no lamps just crt's if it was moved recently then a seal could have been damaged on the crt cuasing coolant to leak down the neck getting into the socket. this will cause trouble for sure also could have a crack in the crt. look for a sticky liquid in the bottom of the unit.
sometime the crt's can ark and rip out a video output chip on the crt socket check it out.
not common but not unheard of.cheers

SOURCE: Projection lamp nearing end of life replace lamp still coming on

Along with the instructions for the lamp installation, you should have revceived instructions on how to reset the lamp counter. If not, this operation is listed in the owner's manual. If you can not locate that manual, please confirm your model number and I will post the instructions. Since the counter has not been reset, the TV will continue to show the "error" message.

This lamp seems to have a short in it. It rarely comes on and when it does it doesn't stay on long. How can I fix it?

Hello Barbara

Problems with standard lamps are usually in the bulb holder, so replace that first. The pins on the bulb (if you are in the UK) have springs to maintain contact and they weaken, or the plastic around them cracks with heat. If it still has problems, replace the inline switch if it has one. If that doesn't work, all the wiring. You can buy 2 core lamp wire with a moulded plug.

How to remove drum light from kenmore electric dryer model 417

The drum light has a protective cover secured by a screw. If you remove the screw and the protective cover, the drum lamp will be exposed. In some models the lamp is a 10 watt candelabra base (looks like a Christmas tree lamp). Unscrew the lamp and screw in the replacement, then reinstall the cover and screw.

My grama has this old lamp and just trying to figure more info on it. All it says on the lamp is, artistic lamp co. NYC pat. Appld. M.709. If anyone can help that would be awesome.

This is a late thirties early 40s lamp from what I can see of this. It should have an iron base to it. Again, from what I can see it is brass but cant tell if it is plated or not but I am going to say not plated. Polished up this will look really nice. The iron base, if restored, will have to be sealed or primed and painted to keep it from rusting again. Re-wiring is a must and you can get the cardboard sleeves to replace the old ones online or sometimes match them at a hardware store. The value unfinished is 50 to 60 dollars. Restored properly with the correct shade would be about a 250 dollar lamp. More accurate dating on this would be to look on the electrical labels on the cord or the sockets themselves.

How to change bottom light bulb

I have to assume that you are referring to the cooktop lamp.
Under the microwave there is one screw to remove to access the lamp. It is a 30 watt candelabra base lamp.
It shows on page 14 of the user manual below. http://shared.whirlpoolcorp.com/assets/pdfs/literature/Use%20and%20Care%20Guide%20-%208185379.pdf

Sad...

The bulbs called for (60W) do get VERY hot...
(but the owners manual I found indicate a 60W
USA style lamp... (appeared to be a E16 (Edison)).

Euro lamps have higher voltage
(and FRANKLY speaking) better heat tolerance...

If you are terribly in love with this unit.. I would first
suggest calling the "SUPPORT" to see if their
"ENGINEERING" already has a solution...

ELSE you should be looking for a couple CERAMIC
(like glazed porcelain) sockets and prepare to
FIELD ENGINEER a proper/safe remedy...

My best suggestion...
Call support
Dimplex Obsidian OBS20 User Manual Page 9

Then contact your favorite hardware... (or LAMPS +)
and ASK the MOST COMMON clear candelabra bulb socket
That sports a CERAMIC type socket... E12 or E14 ...

When I was "converting" a Spanish chandelier..
I used GLAZED Porcelain "EDISON twelves" (E12).

Bell Howell 7650TMO Sunlight Floor Lamp....I need to replace the plug...does it matter which wire goes where on the plug? Only 2 wires come out of the lamp. Thanks.

Yes, it does matter if correct polarity is to be maintained.

Black wire to brass screw on plug

White wire to silver screw on plug

If the plug has 3 prongs (grounding plug), the green wire goes to the green screw.

More info, let me know.

Large cities have "lamp" and/or "lamp shade" stores.
If you will find one, you might be able to buy the parts you need.
Realize that if it be made in China, parts might not be available.
God bless your efforts.

How to install Pass & Seymour 5410CC10 sp2 cord switch on a torchiere lamp? Can it be used the same as an sp1 switch?

The cord that runs to your light contains two wires.
The cord switch interrupts one wire.
The second wire runs uninterrupted between wall plug and light.

The photo below is not the same switch as yours, but it shows how one wire is interrupted and the other wire is uninterrupted.

geno_3245_26.jpg

Which wire do you want to interrupt?
Look at the wall plug.
Is the plug polarized, where one blade of the plug is wider?
If the plug is polarized, then one blade is wide and the other is narrower.
Each blade of the plug feeds one of the two wires going to lamp.
Locate the narrower blade, and the wire that comes from that side of plug.
The narrow-blade wire is the wire you want to interrupt when installing the cord switch.

If the plug is not polarized, then choose one wire.

Can't remove light bulbs in order to replace them. just won't unscrew.

depending on what type of lamp in unit it may have a" bayonet base" lamp.what you need to do to remove lamp is to gently push in on lamp and turn 90 degrees its not a candelabra base like a conventional base bulb,if its a candelabra base they get stuck in the base from the heat and cold you may need to carefully break lamp and use a needle nose pliers to remove base of bulb
