Check your hard drive, run a diagnostic. You may be able to boot into safe mode. Turn on the system and keep hitting the F8 key immediately. If that doesn't do it then try to reinstall the operating system. You may have a currupted Boot.ini or load manager. Lastly if you recently installed any device or program uninstall it. Good Luck

Hi,
the constant Green, states that the motherboard is getting Power.
The red/yellow would possibly suggest, that the ethernet port has a fault or possible corruption.
Solution:- remove the Power Lead from the Computer Case.
Remove side panel. take out any ethernet-Cable from the rear.
Locate the CMOS battery, round silver Battery on The motherboard.
For 10 seconds, this should reset The bios, to it,s original Default Settings. Replace Battery, side Panel. And power Lead.
You could also try This. Boot with Hard-drive power Cable Disconnected ( this will Eliminate HD Fault ) same for CD/DVD drive et,c.

I guess it is a power supply failure can you try and plug it directly to light without using battery remove the battery before you power it on then notice how it behave then you will know the actual problem if it power on with light then it is battery problem. if not the check the harddisk maybe it is not properly fit in. or does it show bios setting or welcome bios

SOURCE: My Acer Aspire X3812 won't turn on when I press

I had exactly the same problem with my Acer X1301, but have found the problem and how to fix it. The problem is that the microswitch is not connected properly to the wires leading to the motherboard. I had previously tried the 200 button presses, long presses, short presses etc. To fix it:

  • Take off the front fascia of the computer
  • Locate the power microswitch, which is fed by two wires, blue and white
  • Pull off the microswitch and the two pieces of black tubing connecting it to the wires
  • You can now "hotwire" your computer to start by touching the wires together, or go to a hardware shop and buy a new switch

Safe Mode and System Restore can fix startup issues in an Acer Aspire One, but if the computer won't even load the boot screen, the problem could be related to the basic input/output system (BIOS).
The Acer Aspire One 110 and 150 are two models that can have BIOS-related problems that prevent the computer from booting.
You can upgrade the BIOS through a USB flash drive to repair this issue.
If you are able boot past the startup screen, but can't sign in to Windows, you can use Windows Advanced Boot Options to bypass startup problems.

Go to the Acer website (see Below).
http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers
Click "Support," then select "Download" from the menu on the left.
Select "Netbook" as the product family.
Click "Aspire One" as the product line. Select "AOA110" or "AOA150" as the product model.

Click the "BIOS" tab.
Click the download button and save the file to the desktop.

Go to the desktop when the download completes.
Double-click the file to open it.

Drag-and-drop the folder to the desktop.
Double-click the folder to open its contents in Windows Explorer.

Double-click the "BIOS_Acer_3310_A_AOA110 & AOA150" folder.
Double-click the "Dos_Flash" folder.

Insert a blank USB flash drive into a USB slot.
Drag-and-drop the "3310.fd" and "Flashit.exe" files to the flash drive.

Right-click the "3310.fd" file. Click "Rename."
Change the file name to "zg5ia32.fd" and press "Enter."

Connect the AC adapter to the power jack.
Hold down "Fn" and "Esc" with one hand, then press the power button with the other.

Release the "Fn" and "Esc" keys when the power indicator light comes on.
Wait at least seven minutes for the system to fix the BIOS and repair the Acer Aspire One startup issues.
The computer will restart automatically when the process is complete.

Other Models

Turn on the computer.
Press "F8" before the Windows logo appears to access the Windows Advanced Boot Options menu.

Scroll to Last-Known Good Configuration.
Press "Enter" to load Windows.
If the OS fails to start up, hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off the computer.

Press the power button to turn the Acer Aspire One back on. Press "F8," then select "Safe Mode" from the options.

Log in to Safe Mode. Click "Start," "All Programs," "System Tools" and then "System Restore." Click "Next."

Select the last working restore point from the options. Click "Next."
Click "Finish" to run System Restore and recover the Acer Aspire One to a previous state.

How do I get into safemode on my acer aspire desktop

1 Restart the Acer Aspire netbook by pressing the "power" button on the netbook's keyboard or by pressing the "CTRL," "ALT" and "DEL" keys at the same time. 2 During startup, hold down the "F8" function key immediately when you see the "Acer" splash screen and the option for entering "Setup." 3 Keep pressing the "F8" key until the "Advanced Boot Options" menu appears. If you receive a "keyboard error," restart the Acer Aspire and repeat step 2. 4 Use the arrow keys to navigate to the "Safe Mode" selection on the "Advanced Boot Options" menu. The arrow keys are located on the right-hand side of the Acer Aspire keyboard. 5 Press the "Enter" key to execute the "Safe Mode" selection. The Windows operating system will now start in "Safe Mode" and you can perform a system restore or make needed changes to get your Acer Aspire to boot normally again. My Acer Aspire x1200 desktop won't turn on. I press the power button, the fans rev and the lights flash blue as normal, then it beenps once and shuts down. It keeps cycling like this, trying to turn itself...

Have you by chance downloaded a new Service Pack for Windows?
Try booting into safe mode and doing a System Restore (if possible), if not try taking out your RAM Module(s) and re-seating them (it). If more than one try re-seating each one separately. One bad module could cause erratic behavior.

Computer is turned on, but screen is black

The Acer Aspire One has a built-in BIOS recovery routine, which can boot into a minimal BIOS environment via a special boot block to re-flash the BIOS, even if the system does not pass POST and does otherwise not boot anymore. This procedure is also known as Crisis Disk.

First format an USB flash drive with FAT. It does not need to be bootable.

Download the latest BIOS, and extract all files. Put both FLASHIT.EXE and the BIOS file with FD suffix in the root directory of the flash drive. The files must not be in a folder. Rename the BIOS file to ZG5IA32.FD before proceeding. It only works with this exact filename.

Turn the AA1 off, and verify both battery and AC adapter are plugged in.

Press Fn and Esc simultaneously, keep them pressed and press the power button. Release Fn+Esc after a few seconds. The power button starts blinking at this point. Press it once. The AA1 will now access the files on the flash drive and initiate flashing the BIOS. After a while the power button stops blinking, and the AA1 reboots by itself. Wait patiently.

If it doesn't reboot, but keeps blinking, wait at least a few minutes before turning it off, and try again.

My Acer Aspire L100 PC Desktop won't start.. when i press power button it only flash LED light jus one time but no HDD sound or CDROM working sound. only CPU fan works thas bout it...Any help? pls

Do you see anything on the screen?

Try the following things:
  1. Try starting the computer with only the battery
  2. Remove the battery and try booting with only the power adapter
  3. Try removing and replacing your memory
Could be a bad power supply or bad battery. After you try the above steps, report your results.
