check under the modem should be there also check this page on your browser 192.168.100.1 or 192.168.1.1 or 92.168.1.254

if you have connected other modems before, that could be due to driver conflicts. have all other modem software uninstalled then install the one you need.

yes, if there's no audio device you'll have to install the drivers. Check also if you have a modem installed. In some laptop models the sound and modem were hooked onto a UAA bus, which requires a Microsoft UAA driver (about 70MB file). I've seen one too many times that peoplw who reinstalled Windows forget about this driver and then cant install the modem and sound card.

well....u cant install an internal dial up modem in the laptop

wat u can do is, there are external dial up modems avlbl, atleast they used to be, not pretty sure that will u find them now, but thats ur solution

You need to install & connect Internet Sharing on your HTC, which would enable your laptop to browse thru HTC

go to support.dell.com and download the modem driver to an external media (cd, thumb drive, etc.).
then right click 'my computer' and go to properties then device manager. you should be able to go to the modem and update the driver from a specific location and then point it to the external media you have downloaded the driver to.

Turns out that the modem stopped transmitting a wireless connection so that is why we couldnt get it working. After nearly putting a hammer through the laptops, we decided that we had better buy another modem. It now works better than ever :-) (phew)

hp has a great drive download area. just search for you model number; pick your OS; download drivers for the modem; then install them

I faced the same problem i installed it. But got through it. See if this works for you too:

1. You have to install the software you downloaded from the tata site or from the CD you got with the MODEM. Do this without attaching the MODEM to the laptop.

2. Once done, insert the MODEM into the USB drive. The Windows will automatically search drivers for USB MODEM and QualCoMM drivers and install it.

After it shows the success message, click the Tata Indicom Dialer and check. The problem should not appear again.
