The dryer overheats, stops and the door opens. when we take it apart the dryer is full of lint despite the venting system in good working order and has been checked

Hi psteel...

Check and clean if necessary your vent hose.
If you vent hose "seems" to be clean then, try running the dryer with the vent hose off and see if the dryer is not running hot anymore.
Make sure your lint screen is in place and has no tears or holes in it and still firmly attached to the frame.
If you are running too hot you are not moving enough air thru the system.
It could be that the fan blade is plugged up.
The problem could be a large lint ball build up in the center of the fan or a sock, thin pants,a pen, etc. that has gotten into the fan by falling down the hole where the lint screen is normally inserted.
You have to find the air restriction to solve the problem.
It also can be a loose or worn out blower wheel/fan.

Air not blowing out of vents in car?

The air not blowing out of the vents in a car but actually if you can hear that air is kicking but its not flowing out of the vents, then this can be the reason:--
  • There is a blend door and motor in the heater box.
  • The blend door motor comes on when you select a setting.
  • It actuates the blend door and directs the flow of air to the proper place.
There are two types of motor mostly seen in car heater box.
  • One is the motor powered electric automotive current.
  • And other is the motor powered by vacuum hoses.

in your car any of this motor can be there.
Many times the blend door gets stuck from debris that falls down through the vents. Also it is possible that the blend door motor is bad or simply came unplugged. Some of these motors are powered by electric automotive current and some are powered by vacuum hoses. It is possible for the vacuum hoses to break or become unplugged.
you will have to check all this options to locate the fault for what is stopping the air from flowing out of the car vents.
this will help.good luck.

My a/c is working, but 98% of the time only blows out of the defroster. Sometimes will split between defroster and floor when in any postion. If i turn the temp up & am stopped it will sometimes blow...

Controller runs on vacuum. You have a vacuum leak between the engine intake and the HVAC control switch or in the switch itself. First look for the vacuum source and hose in the engine compartment. if that is OK, open the dash to access the back of the climate control switch. Disconnect the hose set from the switch and check for vacuum on one of the lines--that would be your source vacuum. The switch will pass vacuum to different remote diaphrams to switch the doors in the system to deliver air to the various registers. If the switch is falling apart and leaking vacuum, you will need a new one.

Air not blowing out of vents

Most vehicles today have what is called a blend door and motor in the heater box. The blend door motor comes on when you select a setting. It actuates the blend door and directs the floe of air to the proper place. Sometimes the blend door gets stuck from debris that falls down through the vents. Also it is possible that the blend door motor is bad or simply came unplugged. Some of these motors are powered by electric automotive current and some are powered by vacum hoses. It is possible for the vacum hoses to break or become unplugged. Check all these options. One of my kids dropped a comb down my upper vent and it blocked the blend door from directing the air flow. That was an easy fix and I hope yours is a simple. I hope this helped you. Roger

When I accelorate my ac vent goes from center

Check the white vacuum hose going to your recirculation door outside under the hood. It is located on the passenger side firewall . The hose becomed brittle and falls apart. I get small vacuum hose and cut into the wiring harness to locate a good section of hose.Put hose to vacuum motor. Good luck.

Lost vacuum at defrost & vent & floor control.

It does not hook to throttle body , it hooks to a vacumn port on the intake manifold. Follow hose from cruise control module to the tee-three-way connector on firewall. Over time the tee will fall apart and will leak One hose goes to the vacumn port, one to cruise module, one to ac contols.
