The garden hose is properly connected, turned on and has no kinks (nor does the hose to the wand, but with the engine running, still no water comes out of the nozzel, on any of the different nozzle settings. It only a year old and has always worked perfectly.
Try priming the pump first. Connect the water to the pump, turn the water on full blast, without turning the washer switch ON, pull the handle valve full OPEN. If water comes out, allow it to run to remove any air lock. When a steady stream appears, turn the pump switch on and see if pressure is present. If no pressure is found your inner pump is probably seized, seek repairs. If pressure pulsates, piston is worn or there is grit in the internals. Never add washing soda, grit, or corrosive chemicals before the pump to aid in cleaning, they will wear out the piston and score the sleeve.

The pressure in a watering wand extension to a garden hose is related to the water pressure from the hose itself.
The point of a watering wand is to provide a gentle and widespread flow of water. If you are looking for a powerful stream, then a different type of attachment is required.
Check to make sure that there is no leaking at the faucet, or at any connecting point. Leaks will lower water pressure at the end point.
Check to be sure the wand itself is free of dirts and clogs. If the wand is dirty or blocked, it will affect the pressure.
If there are several hoses hooked together, the water pressure is more likely to be low at the last point, the wand itself.
When the water pressure drops as a result of another use, like a shower, dishwasher, another hose faucet, then the water pressure will drop in the wand.
Get a back flush kit from an auto parts store. You cut the heater hose that does NOT have the water valve in it. The kit has all the parts you need to accomplish it Once installed you connect a garden hose to it, take off the radiator cap and turn on the water. A lot of rust will come out. Now start the engine and turn on the heater to its hottest setting. It will take some time for the engine water to warm up , but the heater core will flush when you do this. After the water clears, put new antifreeze in the radiator , put the cap on the garden hose fitting and you're done. Run the engine until it opens the thermostat and add water if necessary.
Many of these devices have strainers on the input (garden hose connection) of the pump. Remove the hose and check and clear debris from strainer. Reconnect hose and turn on supply water. Do NOT start engine / motor. Pop the nozzle from the end of the wand and squeeze water trigger. Hose pressure water (or less) should flow from the wand. Of not, youll have to see if water is leaving the pump by inserting the nozzle (or something that will if it) into the hose connector. If water still does not flow - there is an issue with the pump.
with engine off, pour liquid TSP into the water inlet port (where the fresh water hose connects)
Let this sit in the pump for at least two days.
Then connect the garden hose to the inlet and let run for a couple of minutes without the power washer wand attached.
This is how I fixed mine.
Try removing the high pressure hose from the machine. Then connect the water hose and see if water comes out of the outlet.( you can also try this by putting on the machine for a few seconds). If water comes out of the outlet, then you have a problem in the high pressure hose or the wand and trigger. Check also the lance and nozzel for blockage.
I do not know what kind or model of machine you have, but most machines the water always comes out of the outlet when water is fed to the inlet. In bigger machines this cannot happen because they have a reserve tank.
It is easy to check if your hose and quick connects are supplying enough water to the pump. Your pressure washer gallon per minuite requirements are printed on the machine and also on the pressure tips in GPM. Your post indicates 2.5 gpm but check your documentation of GPM. Next remove the tip from the wand and connect your hose with current quick connects to the machine. Start engine and direct the pressure wand into a bucket for exactly one minute. Measure the amount of water in the bucket, it should be very close to stated gallons. Do the same test with tip installed and compare measurement. If pump is starving for water you will not get proper amount of water in the bucket and the water hose will collapse. Two to four gallons of water per minute is not very demanding and should be delivered even with very small opening. You can even just direct the hose into the bucket for one minute and check how much water your hose is capable of delivering. I believe that you will find no problem with water delivery to pump. I would certainly enlighten Northern with your findings and question their evaluation. When you start using your pressure washer again try using it at lowest pressure to get the job done. Lowering the pressure to about 75% of max will increase the life of the pump and engine. Good luck with you pump
