Remove the batteries and any screws you may find there and anywhere else on the case. The front and back halves of the case will have clips holding them together that can be released by inserting a thin tool into the seam separating the case halves, pushing in and prying apart as you work your way around the case. Once the case separates, lay the remote face down on a flat surface so that any individual buttons will not fall out. Remove any screws that may be holding the circuit board and remove it. The contact surface of the rubber buttons is coated with a conductive surface and can be cleaned with alcohol or contact cleaner. The contact area of the circuit board can be cleaned in the same manner or rubbed with a pencil eraser. Reassemble and give it a try before you snap the case together. If all else fails I've had success cutting small pieces of aluminum foil and gluing it to the contact area of the rubber buttons.

Open remote and clean the underside of the rubber buttons with alcohol. Also clean off the circuit board that contacts these rubber buttons. If that does not do the trick try rubbing a graphite pencil on the board contacts under the buttons that do not work. And if that does not do it, paint the bottom of the rubber buttons with conductive paint.

U can find the buttons that do not work by using an AM radio and setting the station to around the 600 area of the dial. Hit a remote button and listen to the beeping on the radio. You can increase the beeping by turning the channel selector for loudest sound. The buttons that do not work will result in no beeps.

Buttons light up but when pressing buttons to start...nothing. would there be a battery that needs replacing?

1) replace batteries under the display board, clean the contacts with contacts cleaner.
2) adjust the REED switch, clean it and tight the wires connector.
3) tight the ribbon cable from keypads, clean it, tight the wires connector from display board vs lower board.
God bless you

Hi! My name is Sharon and I have a 2009 Saturn Aura. Recently I have discovered that one of my key fobs works intermittently and on the spare, even after replacing the battery, does not lock/unlock the...

Hi, the key fob has contacts on a circuit board, much like a remote control for a tv, or a calculator. These contacts are what the buttons touch, to make it work. the buttons, or contacts may be dirty, with a carbon film on them causing the two buttons not to work, leaving only 1 functional. If you take it apart, much like putting a new battery in, you can actually pop out the green circuit board, and see the contacts. These can be cleaned with a pencil eraser. Try cleaning the contacts, and the back side of the buttons. A re program is not in order, because you have 1 function, and will either work as a whole, or none at all. If cleaning does not work, You may need a new fob. Good luck...coop442000

MY Yamaha psr 550 stopped giving sound after cleaning its buttons inside but the beats and other parts are working properly.only the keys are not giving out sound.please tell me how to fix this...

When cleaning buttons HOPEFULLY you did NOT use DeOxit or other contact cleaners like Blue Shower as these can damage the buttons that are conductive rubber.

The conductive rubber buttons should ONLY be cleaned with 99% isoprophyl alcohol and Q Tips. Both the conductive "pill" and the traces they contact on the circuit board should be gently cleaned with the Q Tip wetted with the alcohol.

If you used anything but the 99% isoprophyl alcohol, you can TRY cleaning properly and hopefully they will not have permanent damage.

KS4102: Remote volume buttons won't work . Button is stuck down for the "lower volume" so I am only able to use "high volume" which is too loud for comfortable listening. Do I need replacement remote, and...

You can disassemble and clean the remote, this might help.

Clean the rubber keypad with ethyl alcohol and cottonwool, also clean the contact tabs on the rubber keypad and on the circuit board (don't rub the contacts too hard when you clean them, you don't want to damage the conductive coating).

Also clean well the housing, especially the holes on the housing where the rubber buttons protrude.

The holes (and the rubber buttons) get dirty with use and this often causes the buttons to get stuck.

I had to "repair" several remotes with stuck buttons, and simple cleaning did the trick.

I hope you can get it fixed...

Start buttons don't work after battery change Adidas Sports Timer

You will have to open your watch, because the contacts or contact springs are not stiff enough, so, you need to make them stiffer.
Do as follows:
1) Open your watch caseback
2) Extract the movement (carefully and using tweezers), do not touch dial with fingers,
3)Take small brush and lighter fluid (ZIPPO) and clean all pushbuttons in case from inside and out pushing them rapidly, then use dust blower to dry the fluid out,
4)On the movement you will see contacts corresponding to each pushbutton on the case. Use needle or sharp metal pin to clean (scrape) off any visible residue from these contacts till they are shiny.
5)Pull all contacts on movement sligtly outwards using tweezers but be careful not to brake. This will make them stiffer.
6)Reassemble the watch and the problem should be sorted.
Do not forget to rate, please.

The contacts on the faceplate or radio are dirty. Remove the faceplate and thoroughly clean the copper contacts with wet Q-tips in alcohol. Also clean the ones on the radio.

PSP-3000 buttons won't work

More than likely you have tea residue under the puttons. I would first contact Sony for the warenty information (sorry spelling stinks). If it is out of warenty then I would remove the screws from the back of the PSP and very gently open it up. Remove all buttons writing down their exact location for when you put it back together. Take some everyday alcohol and cotton swabs and clean the area throughly. clean both the back of the buttons and the contact area for the button. Also you may want to disconnect any cables or wires,if there are any (THAT ARE NOT SOLDERED), just the plug style and clean the contacts and connections on those. If you do not feel cmfortable in doing this I would recommend finding a friend that would be able to asist you. This sholud take care of your problem.
