To get the cds to play, and 5 to eject, you can try taking off the sides of the consul and using compressed air. As for the shelf problem, I'm not really sure.

HEY! This worked for me. I turned off the stereo, turned it back on, reset it to factory settings and popped out the disc changer. Then I rotated the cd changer with my hand. It started moving the cds by itself back and forth. It is now able to play cds.

SOURCE: sony up-dr 100 error 0007
This may well be a failure of the cutter switch sensor to reset. This worked for me.
Turn Off the Printer.
Remove both side panels and the plastic panel on the INSIDE of the DOOR on the right hand side. Then close the door and remove the plastic panel UNDER the door. This is held in place by two screws.
You will see a white gear on the bottom right hand side of the door. It is on the underside of the door. Turn this gear untill you can see the cutter move smoothly across the bottm of the door and return to the right side of the door. Listen for a click. This is the switch resetting. Close the door and power up the printer if you still get an error code 0008 or 0007 repeat the resetting process by turning the gear. BE SURE TO TURN OFF THE PRINTER!!

SOURCE: my cd player is saying
mechanical error. a moving part is either broke or physically jammed. remove the cover (dont touch anything inside) and look for broken or jammed pieces, ssuch as gears or belts.
do not get your hopes up- you will probably not be able to fix it, and it will probably be too expensive to pay a professional to do it for you. the player is probably trashed.
