Question about Vision Office Equipment & Supplies
I am scanning checks, and the Panini will stop and declare a fault; it is hooked up to a WinXP computer with My Demo For My Vision X software. When removing the stack of unscanned checks, the error noise sounds again, then placing the checks back in the input area and pressing F5/Start will allow the Panini to run again. With the fault not cleared, I can remove the inner cover and replace it, then hit Start and it will scan one check then call another fault. The scans are clear and there are no missing numbers from the checks scanned when the faults occur, and it's not the same check causing the fault each time.
Hello. The thing you should do first is, turn off the computer and the scanner. Now you need to do is to disconnect the Panini scanner from the computer itself. Then turn on the computer and uninstall the Panini program from the computer. When your done doing all that, reinstall the installtion program for the Panini scanner, then reconnect the scanner back onto the computer, then turn on the scanner and give it a testrun and see what happens. Good Luck!

SOURCE: My HP Scanjet2400 stops working
Step 1. Pl check whether the scanner is placed on an even surface and secondly remove the power plug of the scanner and open the cabinet of the scanner, remove the upper glass portion, reattach the power plug and click on the hp director icon and let the scanner scan without any document. now keep an eye on the belt of the scanner (that moves the lens up and down), if it is touching something in between you would get a clear view of what is the cause of the interruption.

when you tried it on other lmachines did you load software from same source? If its a software driver problem, you can uninstall the one you have and then try getting a new copy from hp website and reinstall fresh.
If there are any known issues or updates, then the current version will be best anyway and may solve the problem.
Probably not much you can do if its a harware problem, unless its under warranty.
