Frigidaire freezer temperature alarm on but freezer is working

Good Afternoon Friend, this is Z. Thank you for your inquiry!

When your refrigerator is beeping or buzzing, it may be a warning sign of a possible malfunction or an unsafe, interior temperature. To silence the alarm, you can depress the ALARM OFF button. However, if you have already done this, try once again unplugging your refrigerator or flipping the household circuit breaker. It is good to wait approximately ten minutes and then turn on your refrigerator. If the alarm continues, it could possibly be experiencing a communication problem with the temperature control/board or wiring failure. I would recommend connecting with a professional appliance tech for a clear-cut diagnosis.

STOPPED RUNNING

Hello Warner, thank you for your post!

Typically when a freezer displays "OFF" it means that the temperature control is in the off position. When this occurs the temperature control turns off the compressor, but does not disconnect the power to the light bulb or other electronics. Let's try re-activating your freezer by pressing the UP arrow until display shows "4" or desired setting. If the issue persists, then the freezer could possibly be experiencing a communication issue with the control board, temperature control or a potential wiring failure. At this point, I suggest reaching out to an appliance expert who is best equipped to pinpoint the exact problem.

Best of luck!

Hi Loretta, I am happy to assist you!

Based on the symptoms you are describing, it sounds like your freezer may possibly have a communication problem with the control board, a potential wiring failure, or faulty temperature control. Before reaching out to a professional, let's try resetting your freezer. This can be done by either unplugging it or flipping off the circuit breaker. It is important to wait approximately ten minutes. If it proves ineffective, In this regard, I would suggest contacting an Authorized Service Technician that will be able to assist you in the exact diagnosis of the appliance.

Best regards!

Temperature alarm sounding. freezer still running & it's only 7/8 years old.

Good Morning Bob, thank you for your post! Did the unit previously experience a power loss? If the temperature of food rises to an unsafe level, the buzzer will sound and the red light, if equipped, will also glow. First, deactivate the alarm to the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker. Wait approximately ten minutes and then turn on the unit. After deactivating the alarm and the unit has run approximately four hours, the red light/alarm should go off on its own. If the red light/alarm continues to stay on, the unit may possibly have a communication problem with the control board, temperature control or a wiring harness. If this is the case, I would recommend connecting with an experienced technician to determine the underlying cause.

Frigidaire ffu1767fwo (power spike) does not turn on can it be fixed

Hello tom97420 - Was the freezer unplugged during the power outage? It is best to be unplug unit and wait for the power to come back on, turn control to off, plug the unit in and reset control to factory suggested setting. Do not open freezer door unnecessarily if freezer is off for several hours. Make sure the freezer plug is tightly pushed into electrical outlet and not plugged into a GFI. Is the temperature control in the OFF position? Set temperature controls to proper setting suggested by owners guide or set to the halfway point and adjust it up or down as needed. If any suggestions are ineffective, contact a professional to move forward accurately. From what you have described the power loss could have possibly caused a communication problem with the control board, temperature control or wiring harness.

Hi - Did the unit previously experience a power loss? If the temperature of the food rises to a level unsafe for a long-term storage, the buzzer will sound and the red light, if equipped, will also glow. After deactivating the alarm and the unit has run approximately 4 hours, the red light should go off. Try resetting the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and turn unit back on. If the red light continues to stay on, I would contact a professional to move forward accurately. FRS6HR5HSB6 model frigidaire side by side fan making noise. Ice is building up around fan. What is causing ice buildup

the defrost circuit has a problem, allowing the frost/ice buildup..
remove the shelves, and back lower cover in the rear of the freezer to expose the evaporator coil, defrost heater, and defrost thermostat.
the defost heater should have continuity through it and the defrost thermostat will have continuity when frozen but test open when warmed.. if either bad replace.
if both test good look for bad connections in the freezer compartment wiring, and moly connectors otherwise the temperature controls are bad and it is an electronic assembly that incorporates the temperature controls with the deforst timer controls..
hope this helps,
best of luck,
ttfn

Temperature control show code CE model GLFU2067FW4

It means there is a wiring error in the door. The only way to fix this error is to get a new door. What a pain! I had the same problem and the freezer was only 1 1/2 years old - thank goodness the manufacturer didn't charge me.
