SOURCE: I don't know how to

You should have 2 dials one is the thermostat when you set it all the way one direction it will shut you refrigerator off. Turn it back to about the middle if there are no numbers. The other dial is the air damper between the freezer and the refrigerator. The fan circulates the air through refrigerator by this damper. If you open this open to much your food in the refrigeration section will freeze. Close it back to about 2 that will give you a colder freezer and should be about right for the refrigeration section.

SOURCE: Fridge not getting cold Bosch KGV36390/05

Hi: It shouldn't need a recharge as your freezer is cold, and that's wher the fresh food section gets its cold from via a fan. If your vents are blocked with too much food in the freezer this will happen. If you have a problem with the defrost heater or timer frost will build and block the port to the fan, causing a warm fresh food section. If the circulating fan is out your f.f. section will get warm. It's a small fan not to be confused with the condenser fan below (at the grill.) Here's a question for you. Did the fresh food compartment work for the first week or two? That's how long it would take frost to build and jam the system if your defrost system is out. If this is the case you can unplug it and put your food in a cooler. Melt the frost with a hair dryer carefully avoiding plastic components. It will then work for a week or two before it fails again. It will get you buy until you get service. If you do it yourself... Look for the defrost heater in the freezer and see if the coil of wire in the glass tube is broken. You will need a service manuals or a parts list with a diagram. Sears parts on line has a good database of parts and diagrams. Hope this helped, Jeff

SOURCE: Defy Fridge temperature dial is confusing - which way is colder?

0 = off, 1 = cool, 2 = cooler, ..... 7 = coldest.  0 - 7 Nothing to do with the degree the fridge is set to.

SOURCE: fridge less and less cold. both sides. now totally

The parts manual on that refrigerator show a defrost timer inside the fresh food compartment behind the control panel. Need you to turn the timer clockwise with a flathead screwdriver slowly until the compressor stops. Leave it alone for 30 minutes and if it does not turn itself back on then we need to replace the timer. If not we need to unplug the refrigerator and remove the back panel inside the freezer. We will need to test the defrost heater and inspect the defrost thermostat. Let me know when you are ready. The part number for the timer is 68233-3

Top of fridge freezing with temperature on lowest setting

You need a new thermostat but there are some things you can check in the link. 1 is the warmest setting.

Most refrigerator temperature settings are controlled with a dial or slider. They are sometimes labeled 1 through 5 or 1 through 9. If you are not sure what to set it to, then set it somewhere in the middle. If the dial is numbered 1 to 5 set it on 3, if the dial is numbered 1 to 9, then set at 4. USUALLY the higher the number on the temp control dial, the colder the temperature your refrigerator will get. If your drinks and food are not as cold as you like, set the temperature dial up one number higher. If it is at 3 and you want your food colder, set it to 4 and test 12-24 hours later to see if your food is at the temperature you want.

Kitchen Aid Unit - maybe 4-5 years old but past warranty. Freezer not freezing. Not that cold in fridge. I played with the dials 1. Are higher or lower numbers on the knob coldest? 2. What else should I...

Set dial to higher number in the fresh food compartment (large door) set the freezer
knob on the vent stack in the center or to the left (if it is set to colder, this prevents cold
air from getting into the lower fresh food compartment). Colder means the freezer
gets colder.
Also if you have a failed defrost termination thermostat it will cause this
symptom on many models. (a lot of folks will disagree but I have only seen a couple
of defrost timers fail in 10 years). The water makes its way into the defrost termination
thermostat and corrodes the contacts inside. It is behind the freezer panel and has two
wires going to it. It is clipped onto a tube. You will need the model and serial from inside
the fresh food door (on the side panel) to get a new one, usually less than 20 dollars.
Remember to set the fresh food compartment temp from 34 to 39 degrees with a
thermometer in a cup of water for 24 hours. Don't forget to unplug unit if service is
required on the thermostat. Hope this helps.

ok there should be 2 dials or knobs one on right should say freezer colder and warmer. by making the freezer warmer u r turning the air baffle so more air goes into the ref. and less stays in the freezer.. ok try that.

Refrigerator less than two months old. Freezer side fine refrigerator side stopped working altogether. All food ruined. Who should I contact. purchased from Home Depot.

This is a very common issue, If the freezer compartment is cold and making ice the
problem is simply airflow from the freezer into the refrigerated section.
Typically when one senses the refrigerator is warm they max out the settings
on both dials the thermostat with its 1-10 settings as well as off for the compressor.
This controls the compressor and temperature.
The additional setting or dial is for colder freezer or refrigerator as well , However
it simply opens or closes a flapper door between the freezer and refrigerator boxes.
When that dial or setting is maxed , it closes and makes the freezer colder, yet leaves the refrigerated section starved for sufficient airflow to maintain a cold box in the refrigerated section.
Just set the dial that does not turn the compressor off to the middle setting.
One can leave the thermostat that does control the compressor in the max setting , just not the colder freezer setting, If you notice colder isnt colder refrigerator, Its actually colder freezer, A common issue found on 25% of all refrigerator calls a simple setting adjustment.
Its easy to think that maxing out the settings makes for a colder refrigerator, it doesnt, it makes a colder freezer and warm rerigeration section.
If a freezer is making ice, theres nothing wrong with the unit other than airflow setting.

My True beverage fridge is freezing the beverages on a temperature setting of 3. The dial goes up to 10. What could be the issue and how much approximately to fix?

Sounds like a bad thermostat. Normal setting is 3 to 5, with 5 being colder, and in my experience, more common. Prices vary but a thermostat is $50 - $75 labor should take no more than two hours - (less if you have the unit completely empty and warm when the tech arrives). The sensor goes into a sheath on the coil so if its cold there can be ice jamming the sensor from coming out or the new one from going in. The thermostat can be calibrated sometimes but it will generally cost the same with less reliable results.
