Make a copy of the game ROM file in your R4 SD Card, then if you have the ROM file in your computer make a copy of that and replace the file in the R4, try to load again the game with the new one. BE CAREFUL make sure to not delete the .sav file of the Game.

Stuck on Loading Screen This usually indicates that the software kernel on the micro sd memory card has become corrupted. It can also happen if the micro sd memory card is overloaded with games, music and video files etc. The solution is to reinstall the kernel software on the micro sd card and ensure the micro sd memory card is not overloaded. Leave about 25% memory free.
download SDformatter and format the sd card with that, place all the files on there, none in folders..

Download the correct software kernel from the manufacturers website
Unzip the files using a suitable programme such as Win Zip or 7 Zip.
Open the folder containing the unzipped files and copy the 4 files (Moonmemo, Moonshl2, R4iMenu and R4.dat) to the root of the memory card.
At this point put the memory card into your R4 card. Start your console and ensure the R4 card is operating correctly.
You may have to run an upgrade file at this point

I've found that if you minimize the game and then maximize it again the mini map appears properly. Works on windows 8.1

First you need to make sure you have the current firmware for the R4 card loaded onto the micro-sd card. I know that some R4 cards only accept up to a 2gb memory card so check and make sure you are using the correct micro card with the R4. When you have downloaded the firmware for your card you need to make some folders. Label them games...movies... music... etc.. making a folder for each one. Put the Mp3 files in the correct folder. When you use your R4 you will see three icons at the startup screen go to the one labeled multi-media... Moonshell will run the movies/music... you are ready to go ... hope this helps

After I have loaded the R4 Sw to my new 8 Gb SD card and placed it in my NDS. When starting the NDS i got 2 white screen on the top screen there is a little red box saying Menu. What is wrong

could be the card..... sorry my 4gb micro sdHC didnt work on my phone nor games n music for my ds. sorry to big and the r4 isnt compatible with the 8gb sdhc,,, also i mod psps and there way cooler!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Minnie,

The last official firmware for the original R4 was v1.18, the R4 SDHC needed different firmware as it's from a different manufacturer. You need the 1.34 software available from this download page if you have the real black box one: R4 Firmware

That should fix your problems.

Normally this happens because the game you downloaded, also called a rom, is incomplete or is not compatible. The solution is to download a different rom of the same game and see if it works. If not, then you may need to upgrade the R4 software available here, http://www.r4ds.me/download/r4ds.html For a how to video, go too, R4 DS Card Firmware Download And Set Up For R4 DS

Pls format your micro sd card, then redownload latest kernel firmware v1.64b from official site and unzip it,open the folder and copy the root files into your micro sd card,reput your root nds game files into your sd card as well and see whether it works.

Hmm, depends what DS your sister has.

The R4 is known to work in both the original DS and the DS lite.
However the new DSi has a block and requires a new type of flash cart.
Even with new firmware updates the R4 will not work on the new DSi.
You'll need to find a cart for the DSi, these are usually rather inexpensive.

Also about the firmware, the type version of your cart might not be supported by the latest update. The fact it stops working in all DSes means that something was wrong.

I hope this helped out a bit.
