Epson ink cartridges, always empty?

I have replaced all the ink cartridges in my epson dx 6050 printer. At first the printer said the cyan ink was not genuine (it is) and now without using the ink at all it is saying it is empty?

Epson has gone to great pains to ensure that third-party cartridges dont work. They really did a good job. Sometimes their printers wont even recognize genuine Epson cartridges. I saw a CX8400 with a brand new cartridge claim it was out of cyan ink after printing one 4 x 6 photo. Then it would recognize any cyan cartridge. It had to go back to Epson for replacement. Epson 1400 not recognizing an epson ink cartridge

not necessarily faulty cartridge - had same problem went thru various cartridges some worked some didn't - in fact they weren't epson - so bought epson from office depot and that would not work, so not an issue of ink dried up - if yr printer is fairly old may be easier just to replace rather than waste time and money on trying to figure out problem

Just put ink cartridges in epson printer still says empty

Did you use Epson Genuine Cartridges? ALL…. Epson & Brother Requires Genuine Epson Cartridges. !!!!!!!!
That sounds like your problem.

In Purchasing Epson's CX 5400, CX4600, & CX7400 and more, I found out that Epson does not like Generic Printer Cartridges. I also Purchased a Brother. That also does not like Generic Print Cartridges. Color that should be Yellow, will turn out Green, Blue Brown, etc.

These printers have a CHIP that will detect if it is Generic or Genuine. When they see it’s Generic Cartridges, it will print lines thru the words, stripes across the picture and also do a mix match with the colors. It also will not let you print anything, if only one of the cartridges is empty.

I wanted to print only Black, and would not let me, because I did not have any ink in one of my cyan cartridges. Go figure.

That's what these Companies do., so they can keep selling the ink cartridges. Some Printers, are able to use Generic, and some are refillable. Some you can refill them up yourself and I heard, quite MESSY.

So I learned, thru trial and error, that you must use the ORIGINAL Genuine Cartridges for these PRINTERS. Some people say some models work fine compatible, but not mine.......

I had to replace the printer, but Epson, Lexmark & Brothers are always on sale. My Brother & Epson cost me $50.00 with Rebate. .

This is the only advice I can give you. If you find this helpful, pls rate me.

Thanks and Good Luck :0)

Also go thru the utility to change cartridges. This will make the chip know that you have all new cartridges and will move the ink station in place.

Light cyan ink didn't work on epson 1400

Get yourself a couple of sets of empty cartridges from cobraink.com.
It is so easy to fill your own from the removable rubber cap, on the top of the cartridge. Not to mention what you will be doing for the environment.
I have been using these for over a year and have saved a ton of money
This man also sells the ink that you will need. ALSO tell him to send them empty, otherwise he will automaticly send them full of "pigment "ink, because you want to use an ink dye

Replaced a new cyan cartridge for Epson 1400. Printer ignored it.

Ye of course it could be faulty and Epsons are sometimes very fussy about using third party carts. Get it replaced at your store, try a different brand or buy a genuine Epson cart if you can afford it.
