If you have checked all of the cords, you can try and see if a reset works. There should be a small hole on the rear of the unit. Insert a pin or paper lip and hold. You will hopefully see lights blink. If you do not, it is likely dead. Consort manufacturers warranty, though it is unlikely, you may be covered for a replacement.

How do you turn this on, or are the batteries dead?

'finding' the mouse just means that the receiver portion has been recognized and drivers installed.

on the bottom of the mouse should be a very small on/off switch, and of course the batteries in the mouse might be depleted as well.

Your alternator is dead/dying. Nissan puts both of those lights on to tell you that the alternator isn't charging your battery.
