Question about Lexmark X5470 All-In-One InkJet Printer
When the power is connected a red light on the printer head flashes.
It could be jammed. Try removing the paper, trays etc. Does it work now? Generally at this point, it would move the print head to one side and then complain about there being no paper or similar.
Check that the print cartridges are seated properly. Try removing them and then putting them back into place. Maybe they are binding on something.
If all this gets nowhere, maybe a motor is burned out somewhere or an inside cable disconnected (you can look around a bit for that). I'd try their technical support line. Several have been helpful to me and been able to fix the problem over the phoone.

You should install driver first, then connect printer when prompted, then install inks, as it needs the driver to tell it there are full inks fitted, refer to the manual.

From what you explained to me in the above paragraph and it sounds like either the motor is burned out or there is something obstructing the motor from moving. Your best bet is to take it in and have someone look at it.

The head is discontinued, QY6-0034-000, try online though, there still are stores who have it in stock, and there is no generic substitute.
