The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Remove the memory card from camera, put it into a reader and connect the reader to the computer via the usb port. Then using windows explorer locate the folder where your pictures are, create a new directory in your computer hard drive, and Copy the pictures you want into your hard drive.

  1. Hi
  2. Plug your Samsung mobile phone's USB flash cable into the phone and into the computer's 2.0 USB port outlet. When the computer detects a USB connection, a notification screen will appear in the lower right corner of the screen, above the task bar. The phone's software driver will be automatically installed to your computer's hard drive.
  1. Import your pictures to your computer. Click on "Import Pictures" when the "AutoPlay" dialog window pops up. Close the "AutoPlay" window to configure the import settings.
  2. Choose a gallery title for the pictures you are importing. When the blank data form appears in the bottom right corner of the screen, type a name for your gallery in the data form. Click on the "Import" button to begin the downloading process.
  3. Remove the Samsung USB flash cable from the computer and then from the mobile phone. Click on the "Start" menu icon, then select the "Pictures" tab folder. Your newly imported pictures should be stored in this folder. Please Rate this solution. Regards.

Will not download pictures

Hi you need to Import to "My Pictures" Folder if you can see that option. As soon as you plug in the USB plug from your Camera to the Computer it should make a sound and and Import menu should pop up. It will ask what you want to do with the images. You will select Import to my Computer, If it gives you an option to save to "MY PICTURES" Select that option. If not just Import to your Computer and then Later go to "Pictures" in Windows and select RECENTLY CHANGED option. This will pull up the Pictures you JUST PUT ON THE COMPUTER. Hope this helps

I have a Nikon Coolpix P2 camera that I love. I used to have Picasa 2 software loaded and it automatically detected when I attached the camera to a USB port. I've accidently upgraded to Picasa 3, and that...

It's probably because Picasa 3 is not your default import program for photos. You can fix this by:

In Windows XP, your default import setting must be adjusted on a device by device basis:
* Connect the import device (your camera or card reader) to your computer.
* Double-click My Computer on your computer desktop.
* Right-click the listing of your import device.
* Select Properties.
* Click the Autoplay tab.
* Select 'Pictures' from the content drop-down menu.
* Choose from two possible actions:
* Select an action to perform: Select an application to handle import by default each time photos are detected on the specific piece of hardware.
* Prompt me each time to choose an action: Choose an import application each time you attach your hardware.
* Click Apply.
* Click OK.

Windows Vista

Windows Vista allows you to set a global import preference for all photo or videos files.
* Click Start > Control Panel.
* Select Autoplay.
* Under 'Picture' or 'Video,' select your default import program.
* Click Save.
