Take out the spark plug and try turning it over

sounds like too much oil inside it
can cause compression issues
drain clean the oil
you can tell lots with no plug in
could be anything in the transmission to the trimming head
perhaps the clutch is seized up

String trimmer Won't start. Hard to pull starter cord with spark plug installed.

Remove spark plug turn trimmer so that spark hole is down and pull starter rope until all old fuel is evacuated from cylinder, place spark plug back in and try. If this is not problem and especially if it is still hard to pull you may have a ring that has broken and partially hung in cyl.

Wont start why?

Small engines on leaf blowers and string trimmers are fuel mixture sensitive. Too much oil in the fuel causes carbon buildup within the cylinder and will cause the piston ring to become stuck within its groove. A stuck piston ring means poor compression and compression is part of the formula for successful ignition...fuel/air and spark are the others. I tore my unit down and checked EVERYTHING...I read a blurb somewhere about carbon buildup on larger engines so pulled the muffler off my blower and could see the piston ring and scoring...I picked at the ring which should be somewhat springy....push down on it and it should push back. Pulled the cylinder off and found the ring firmly stuck...tried to gently pry it free but....snap! Unit is trash as parts are not worth it. This blower ran fine the last time I used it...go to start it for another use and no start. Why? When engine was running the ring became stuck but the rapid engine rpm's kept it running....shut it off and try to restart later and no go because of low compression. Anyone who has a sudden small engine starting problem should ckeck this.

I need to know how to restring my Twist & Edge RTE weedeater. I've looked everywhere & can't find an answer that makes sense. PLEASE Help.

I found this solution on the net. I hope it helps.

Unscrew cap and remove. Remove line guide ring. Note which way to put line guide ring back on, slot to outer edge. Remove the empty spool.

Don't take spool apart unless you need to get inside to remove string. The outer half should be yellow. Cut 25 ft. of .065 line. Start pushing the line inside the spool from the center making sure the string is winding inside in a counter clock direction which should be shown on the spool. Keep pushing until there is about only 6 in. left.

Replace spool. Then the line guide ring, making sure to pull the string through the middle of it. Then hold the string on the slot in the ring while replacing the cap.

Pulling string on weed eater does not want to turn

It's possible that the engine has seized if the pull cord won't turn the engine over. Remove the starter mechanism from the engine and try to turn the flywheel by hand. One or more of the mounting screws may be hidden under a decal or other label. If the engine won't turn at all, remove the muffler and check the piston skirt for bad scoring--which usually means either dirt inhalation (bad air cleaner) or running the unit on straight gasoline. Either of these conditions require replacement of the cylinder, piston and ring(s) plus labor if you farm out the repair. Weigh the approximate cost of up to $150 against a new trimmer. Hope this helps!

32cc crafstman weedwhacker (2 yrs old)flooding wont start

Nope, it's not the carb. The plug is wet and probably black as well. Wet plug and lots of smoke means too much oil in the mix which is where the problem lies. Get a compression tester and look at the pressure reading; anything less than 90psi means the piston ring is stuck and needs to be replaced/cleaned.
