It doesn't reconized the dvd-rom, but to open it, unplug it for 30-45 seconds. plug it back into the power strip/wall. At that same moment tap (2/3 times) the stop/eject button . do not press play (it will try to load automatically) . try it once more (if it do not open, this time a full minute) presto it should open.

My DVD player DRC313 doesn't read, doesn't give any answer when fed it with a regular dvd. Shall I try changing the lens? Is it wise to ask the repair man to look at it and the lens is not the...

It is probably better that you leave the laser and its related assemblies within the DVD player to a qualified experienced technician; he can give you a detailed description of the actual trouble, a quote on the likely costs of repair (where applicable, including replacing/fitting the laser if required), and a second opinion as to whether it is economical to fix in the first place, or replace with a new unit, since this is not a DVD recorder, it might be expensive, but it is up to you.

Unless you have some technical experience, it is unwise to open the unit up to clean the laser or make any internal adjustments without the correct measurement equipment (DVD laser assemblies are precision aligned and balanced; blind adjustment and/or incorrect handling would render them inoperative permanently) - no room for error.

In this case, you cannot simply 'change the lens', it would take more than that to restore full operation of your unit, but get a couple of repair quotes first before making any further decisions.

A dvd rom is looking the dvd player!

First of all you need to try unpluging cable and plugin it back in after 30 seconds. If this doesn't help then you should try manually taking the dvd out of the player while unplugged...

Panasonic dmres30v unable to open dvd drawer led displaying u99 and cant remove

Press the power button on the main unit to switch the unit to standby. When the unit is in standby , press the power button again on the main unit to turn it on. If the unit doesn’t switch to standby, press and hold the power button on the main unit for about 10 seconds to forcibly switch it to standby.

To open the drawer, press and hold STOP and CH UP buttons on the main unit at the same time for about 5 seconds.

Pioneer DV 310 K region free

Step 1) Download the pioneer firmware here

The site says the firmware only works on region 2 players. For this model it worked for my region 4 player in Australia

Step 2) Burn this file to a CD-ROM with name PIONEER as per these instructions -

Step 3) Load the CD and your DVD player with ask you to flash the firmware. It says press play to start but instead HOLD DOWN ENTER during the entire process. DO NOT switch off your DVD during this time. When the tray opens take the CD ROM out but keep the DVD on. The flashing can take up two to three minutes. During this time HOLD DOWN ENTER ON THE REMOTE. The entire time!

Step 4) The DVD player will reboot. The tray should be empty. It will then load the tray back into the player. If the signal is disorted switch on and off.

Your done! Should work.

The most complex way of region freeing a DVD I have ever endured! :)

DVD player tray will not open

Maybe this will help someone look in the right direction. A friend gave me a KISS DP-1000 with the same problem: The TV showed the 'Eject' graphic, and nothing happened. There is no little hole that you can poke a paperclip in, like on a PC. I opened the player, and still could not find anything. Then I googled the model of the actual tray mechanism (DSL-710A). The datasheet said that it did have an 'emergency eject' machanism, operated by a Philips screw at the bottom of the tray. There are no holes at the bottom of the DP-1000, only a dimple that dead-ends. I broke through the bottom of the dimple with a small, flat, screwdriver, then enlarged the hole. I felt around with a medium Philips and it fitted into something. I twisted gently, and the tray popped out. Why KISS covered the 'emergency eject' screw is anybody's guess, but I am not buying any of their products.

First, make sure the DVD Recorder is completely disconnected from the Main Supply.

Then, if you look on the base of the unit, (just underneath the front of the Disc Insert/Eject Tray), there is a small slot, (approx 25 x 8mm), in which you can see a small, white, plastic lever probably situated near the right-hand side of the slot.

Then move this lever gently to the left, and then turn it on and the tray opens by pushing the button.

heh... I wouldn't recommend the crowbar. Their is a belt inside the drive underneath the actual reader, it's broken, happens alot. As to actually fixing that issue, you would have to open up the case and take it apart, can be difficult on some drives. I don't know where you could get a replacement belt either. I had to turn my samsung into a manual dvd player (I have to pop off the top, pick up the drive and slide over a pin to open it.) I wouldn't actually recomend that, I just didn't feel like paying to have it fixed. I couldn't find a belt anywhere. which left me with the option of going to a repair center. Probably your only option as well... Unless of course you do like the idea of a frankenstein dvd player. Good Luck

I have actually had the same problem multiple number of times now and am going to suggest you a rather "crude sounding" solution!! First, atleast in my case the problem usually occurs when you turn the DVD player off while it still has DVD/CD inside and then turn it back on a little while later. This is how the "solution" works. I just disconnect the player and give it a good shake !! This somehow dislodges the "stuck" disc inside and voila, the player opens up after reconnecting and pressing the open/close button. Sometimes it takes more than one "good shake". Sounds rather severe but works everytime !!
