SOURCE: tv tuner card is not supporting with lcd monitor

The intex it 3488 tv tuner has known compatibility problems with this particular Acer monitor: see here.

If the tuner card is new see if you can get a refund, by claiming it as faulty, after all this is a factory fault.

Yes, I know. Aspire 5100 series of Notebook PC, not the Aspire 5230 series. I am looking at the Service Manual for the Aspire 5230 series right now, and the above link is a good basic pictorial guide.

http://www.tim.id.au/blog/tims-laptop-service-manuals/#toc-acer

Drop down to the subheading - Aspire 1200. (1200 in Blue)
Go down to the 6th line, scroll across, and left-click on 5230 in blue.
(Takes few seconds before the first page comes up.
In the PDF file page number box at the top, go to Page 119)

2) If you mess up with the connection of the LCD Panel Cable, to the LCD Panel, (On back), your laptop will not power up.
Those tiny contact pins on that cable's connector, must line up exactly, and be plugged in tightly to the LCD Panel.
Not plugged in tightly? You won't see it visually. You have to physically check.

Also use the old tape that was there, to tape over the connector once installed, on the back of the LCD Panel.
Ripped it all the way off? Oops! Use some new tape. (Not duct tape, scotch tape, or medical tape. Box tape with strands in it)

3) Connector of LCD Panel Cable, connected tightly into motherboard?

4) Screen Inverter wires connected? Connectors are keyed differently from each other, BUT, are they connected correctly?

5) Why was the LCD Panel replaced? Damaged? Did the LCD Panel Cable receive damage? Did you perform a cursory visual inspection of it's sheath, at least? Sheath showed ANY damage, did you perform a continuity check of each wire in the cable, with a multimeter set to Ohm's? (LCD Panel Cable unplugged from motherboard, and LCD Panel, of course)

6) If there was damage, did the screen Inverter receive damage?

7) Connect the LCD Panel Cable's ground wire/s back to THE ground screw/s? Good bright clean connection area for those eyelet ground terminal/s?

8) Did you crossover the new LCD Panel to the old LCD Panel, to make sure it is a direct replacement?
NOTE*
A screen Inverter, and an LCD screen, (LCD Panel for Acer), are a MATCHED unit.

9) AC adapter plugged into power, and plugged into laptop, along with the battery?

Post back in a Comment, and if none of the above is the problem, we'll go on from there.
Regards,
joecoolvette

Got an acer aspire 5735z laptop, its running but got a black screen

It only means that either the Inverter Cable/LCD cable or the LCD itself is defective, because if you still see the contents of the laptop to an external monitor, then it means that the rest of the computer's components are working.
You can have the Inverter Cable reseated or have the LCD screen replaced. Have it tested by a local technician.

My Lenovo G430 thinkpad has some display problem. It happens after 3 years using. The LCD screen has flickered during on condition.I really need your help.

Hi ,

CCFL (Cold Cathode Florecent Lamp), which is the back light OR the Inverter board, which provides high voltage to the CCFL may be failing. These parts are inside the LCD Display of the laptop.

So, my advice is that FIRST OF ALL, make the backup of the data as the above mentioned parts may fail anytime. Secondly, you should seek professional help from any authorized repair/ service professional to avoid any further damage to the laptop and replacement of the faulty part(s).

Hope it helps! Good Luck!

I have an acer aspire 5742Z-4601 and when i turn it on there is a blank screen with a lot of blue lines going vertical.

The LCD of your laptop already has a damage and needs to be replaced. this happens when your LCD gets hot and the contacts inside the LCD opens causing it to not send signals to display the output.

I have a acer 4740g laptop.I ve got display problem. It shows several lines and i cnt work on it.Recently it got little pressed on its display. Can any1 help me?

Hello shreejan_man

First thing to do is to test the screen. Also you have not mentioned if there is any cracks or damages.

Plug the laptop to an external monitor (any type will do). If the display on the external monitor is OK then it means the laptop screen is damaged.

If the display on the external screen is the same as the laptop then the problem is internal with the graphic chip or the video contacts.

this laptop is not that old since acer released this model last year. Check you warranty status on it. Some acer laptops come with two year warranty. Check the laptop carefully, if there is no sign of physical damage, (cracks, chips ...) then take it back as a warranty issue.

Good luck

HI I replaced the lcd screen on my iphone and now I cannot see anything, I can hear that it is working but nothing on the screen and I installed it exactly as I was told, thank you so much

For sure as you mentioned that the phone boot and is working except for the display, the fault seems to be in the display connection or the display interface.
So make a good attempt to once again repeat the work making sure that the contacts are clean , make sure that the display connectors are contacting and finally look for any visible damage on the display power tracks.
Have to know why the display was changed? was it damaged or is this for the symptom. If so the fault can be related in the main board.

hi,
yes it can be fix ,but unfortunately not by you..beacause its a sensitive case...go to a cellphone shop to repair your lcd connector first ,that lcd connector connects the lcd or glass display to main board of the cellphone ,if it is damage or lost of contact you cellphone display is not working...second try to replace a new and good lcd before going to the last option ,which is the display driver of the phone...the display ic is a small components that makes the lcd functioning..
the above solution must be doing by an expert mobile technician and its step by step procedure must needed to prevent bigger damage in your phone..

My Acer aspire laptop has 25 vertical diffrent coloured lines on the screen. They have slowly been getting worse over time. Have you any ideas what the problem can be? Dave.

Your LCD panel is losing it - either the connections between the electronics and the glass panel are getting damaged, or the control electronics is dying for some reason. You can check if it's a connection problem by gently pressing the plastic frame above or below the display and seeing if it changes for better.

Either way, your LCD will need replacing. If the machine is still under warranty, contact the Acer service a.s.a.p. to get a warranty repair, otherwise it will cost you quite a bit...
