You use your laptop wifi(control panel, wireless config) to scan wireless hotspots(free unsecured or your own secured router). Then select one to connect. Even if you are connected to wired ethernet router already.

It looks like you've keyed it in once, but you keyed it in wrong, so the system thinks the security key is there.
Which Operating System?
You can try connecting to another secured network and see if it asks for a security code, then try going back to your network.
Try getting to the security code by going to the wireless network connection and highlighting your network then click properties.
