At the time the agitator should rotate in the opposite direction there is a small clunk and the agitator remains stationary

Hi just read your posting.Depending on how old your machine is it could be a couple of reasons.1st thing I need to know is how old your machine is? Also when the machine should turn the opposite direction listen carefully and do you hear a hum from the motor when it should be turning in the opposite direction?Please reply with this additional information and I am sure I can help you .Looking forward to your reply.
