You will most likely need to replace the receiver with a new one from hunter. The receiver is actually a complete controller and contains the receiver, relays (which you hear clicking) and starting condensors(large capacitors which hold a charge that is "dumped" over the windings to get the motor to start from a dead stop). These appear to be pretty tightly assembled unless you have a desire to start replacing parts "off the board."

I had this same problem and found that it was the transmitter!!! I opened the back and found the loop antenna dislodged from the circuit board. Soldered it back in and the fan responded to all speeds!!! I guess it was poor original soldering combined with the pressure on pressing the buttons. Try this before you buy a new receiver/transmitter. Rohan

Check your capacitor. If this is an add on remote, set the fan on high with the remote then pull the chain on the fan until you get high speed.

HUNTER ceiling fan remote works with fan but not light

Unfortunately, you either have a faulty reciever or remote. A replacement will cost $30-$40 at homedepot2.gif. And it doesn't matter which is faulty because you can't purchase them seperately anyhow.

Sounds like the remote receiver units (located where the mains connect to the fans) took a surge and have failed.
