Unit keeps cycling off and on with the "bucket full" light blinking

It appears as if the water may not be flowing through the hose.
* When you use a hose the unit must be located near the drain. If the hose is to long the water will not flow freely and cause the water to back up in the hose triggering the bucket full.
* If the unit is lower or the hose runs up hill even the slightest incline will cause the water not to flow backing up to the machine
* Hose must remain flat and in a down hill flow to the drain if you are running a longer hose than recommended. If you are have a long distance to run the hose elevate the dehumidifieer by placing it on a stand, milk crate, anything that will hold the unit. Be sure it is large enough and strong enough to support the unit to prevent it from falling. This will help siphon the water from the unit and prevent any water to back up the unit.
* If your using an old hose make sure there are no kinks and water flows freely through the hose. Any kinks or type of pinch in the hose will cause the water to back up

I hope this helps resolve your issue. This is the most common mistake when using a hose.

I just bought a Midea MDF!-30AEN3-BA4 dehumidifier and connected the continuous drainage tube to it and it still fills the water tank rather than dumping out the hose. I have tried it with the water tank...

If the hose is longer than 5 feet, that's part of the problem. The hose must slope down and straight to a floor drain. It relies on gravity to drain.

Although you just purchased it, the hose connector and inner tubing may be clogged. This is another reason water is diverted to the bucket. Turn the unit OFF & unplug it.

Using an appropriately sized, 18" long, plastic Zip Tie, carefully insert the tip of Zip Tie into the hose connector and tubing. Continue to push it in until you reach a bend in the tubing. You will need to gingerly work the Zip Tie past this bend, until it either bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Then slowly pull the Zip Tie back out while rotating (twisting) it. This will breakup any clogs. As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared, as some water may follow. Reconnect the hose, plug the unit in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Set the humidity extraction level to 35% or Maximum if you have a manually controlled unit. Allow the unit to run, while you the hose for water flow. It may take 5 to 10 minutes for water to appear.

NOTE: If you don't have a Zip Tie, you may use something similar ( i.e.a long pipe cleaner), but NO wire coat hangers
.

Hope this helps you to troubleshoot & solves the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

I have attached the hose to the Danby dehumidier and put the water tank back into the machine. I pressed continuously flow and the humidity indicator is at 87 The water tank was full later with the...

Did you punch out (or cut) the plug that the hose connects to? If not, its blocking the water from draining to the hose.

Please rate 4 stars if this is helpful. Thanks and good luck!

Have hose hooked up but it does not drain. Compartment fills with water and needs dumped manually. Want the hose to work so twice-a-day dumping in basement not needed. Thanks!

You connected a hose to the hose outlet on the catch tank ... right? The tank will not drain even though there are no kinks in the hose and the end is lower than the tank, right? Did you put a hole in the tank before you attached the hose? I will bet not ... and I will not laff at you ... I did the same.

Put a hole in the tank (where the hose attaches), reattach the hose and all will be well.

Thanks for your interest in FixYa.com :-)

I put a hose on my 50 pint drain and it still just fills the tank, what do I do? PS the hose is not plugged

Is there a actual hole in the tank where your hose connects? Is there a piece of dirt clogging the hole in the tank.

Water runs down hill ... if there is a hole in the tank for the water to get out and the hose is clear and it is going down hill ... it must drain. The entire length of the hose has to be flat or down hill and no kinks.

Let me know what you find please

Our Whirlpool gold dehumidifier is leaking water. We have checked the water reservoir and it is in correctly and continues to collect water. But, water is seaping onto our floor from the dehumidifier.

Do you use a hose with your dehumidifier? Could it be leaking? I have two machines in my basement. I use hoses on both. I had to do funny stuff to make the hoses not leak on the plastic 'blown' tanks. Even the cap that originally came with the machines were leaking before I started to use the hoses.

Check for holes in the tank as well.

The water fills the tank but does not go out of the hose and drain to the sump pump as designed

Check the hose for clog up as well as your sump pump. Have your hose unclogged and let it run. Check the sump pump if this is running. And if it is, and still no water goes out. Open the sump, and check the impeller for defect. Impeller is the one that turns around to push the water out. If it is defective, you must replace it to make it run.
Once you are done, power it up and start it.

Water tank still gets full when connected to floor drain

Check the fitting where you connect the drain hose to. It may have a plastic seal that must be cleared out in order to use the hose drain. The plastic seal can be easily punched out.

Drain hose not working

Hi, had the same problem. Not a glogging one. I have the model DDR503H. If it is insisting on filling the reservoir, it is because you haven't put the cap you removed from de back of the unit to plug the hose on the tank water exit. You have to first remove the tank and on the roof of this space, you will see the water tank exit where you can screw the cap removed from the back. You place back the tank into the unit and now the water won't have other choice then leak thru the hose. Also. to clean up the filter, I don't need to unscrew the top cover. I just remove the tank and on the roof of the space, there is a grey handle with arrows on it and I just pulled down, it comes out and you can then clean it up.

Hope this help,

Steeve

Tank still fills when we are using direct drain feature

check to see that the hose isn't clogged, and that the hose runs down hill from the tank all the way to the drain. if it is higher than the tank at any point in its path it will not drain. you may put the dehumidifier on top of a small platform to aid drainage. also check that the knockout removed so there is a hole to let the water go from the tank to the hose?
