The wireless light when lit up in AMBER says, either you are trying to connect with a wrong password or the security enabled in the router is not compatible with your laptop. If you have the security enabled as WPA/WPA2 in the router, then change it into 64bitWEP. Also change the name of the network (SSID) to prevent any future issues with SSID.

How do i get on the internet?

  1. Turn on your Nintendo DSi and access your system settings by clicking on the wrench icon.
  2. Scroll over to the third page, and select "Internet."
  3. Now choose "Connection Settings."
  4. Click on "None" in "Connection 1."
  5. Then click "Search for an Access Point"
The system will then display the name of any wireless access point within range. If nothing shows up, try moving to another location.

If The access point has a gold, unlocked icon, tap the access point's name, and then "OK." The system will then establish a connection with your router.

If The access point has a gold, locked icon, the Nintendo DSi has detected WEP/WPA key security on your router:
  1. Tap the Access Point name.
  2. You can either enter your WEP Key, or click "Change Security Settings" to enter a WPA key.
  3. Tap "OK" again and the system will then establish a connection with your router.
If The access point has a gray, locked icon, the system has determined your router is set to WPA security. You need to access the Advanced Setup area of the system to connect with this security method.
  • Instead of tapping "None" in "Connection 1", click "Advanced Setup", then click "None" in "Connection 5".

At the bottom of my router are two icons, the modem and the internet, which are flashing orange. all other icons are blue. i am unable to get a connection. I also have VOIP connected to my router, if that...

Some routers will not get online if voip is connected while repairing connection. I would unplug your voip and try to connect then. Unplug your modem for about 30-45 seconds and then make sure all wiring is correct. Once you are able to connect the plug your voip back in. Internet light is not supposed to be orange but green or on some routers blue. If your modem aslo has orange light it is possible it is your provider issue. I would also check with them if steps i described above dont work. Good luck.

Hi jackmyrtue,

Here's what the lights on the front indicate:

A. Wireless Security

  • Solid Blue Wireless security is on
B. Wireless-Computer Status
  • OFF Wireless computer is not present
  • Solid Blue Wireless computer is connected to the Router
  • Blinking Amber Problem with wireless computer onnecting properly to the Router
C. Wired-Computer Status
  • OFF Wired computer is not present
  • Solid Blue Wired computer is connected to the Router
  • Blinking Amber Problem with wired computer connecting properly to the Router
D. Router/Power Status
  • When you apply power to the Router or restart it, a short period of time elapses while the Router boots up. During this time, the "router" icon blinks.
  • When the Router has completely booted up, the "router" icon becomes a solid light, indicating the Router is ready for use.
  • OFF Router is off
  • Blinking Blue Router is booting up
  • Solid Blue Router is on and ready
E. Modem Status
  • This icon lights in blue to indicate that your modem is connected properly to the Router.
  • It turns amber when problem is detected.
  • OFF Router is NOT connected to modem
  • Solid Blue Router is connected to modem and functioning properly
  • Blinking Amber Problem with modem
F. Internet Status
This unique icon shows you when the Router is connected to the
  • Internet. When the light is off, the Router is NOT connected to the Internet.
  • When the light is blinking amber, the Router is attempting to connect to the Internet.
  • When the light is solid blue, the Router is connected to the Internet.
When using the "Disconnect after x minutes" feature, this icon becomes extremely useful in monitoring
the status of your Router’s connection.

  • OFF Router is NOT connected to the Internet
  • Blinking Amber Router is attempting to connect to the Internet
  • Solid Blue Router is connected to the Internet

I hope this helps figure out your PS3 issue.

Can't get it setup to work without being plugged in to my laptop

If you have Windows XP and there's is no extra security set up on the router then connecting is easy.

In the bottom-right corner you'll see a small icon that looks like a computer. The screen is likely blue on it. Additionally there are two faint crescents near the top of the icon. That's the Wireless Zero-Configuration tool. If you double click on that icon a window will pop up showing the names of nearby connections, their signal strength, and whether or not security is enabled. By default the name of the DI-524 is "default." If it is not secured, click on on and then click the connect button. Windows may then ask if you want to connect to the unsecured network. Click on Connect Anyway and the configuration tool will connect you to the router.

Belkin Router keeps frezing.

Try changing the channel of the router to 1,9 or 11, and make sure that there is no cordless phone near the router or the wireless computer, this will help mionimize wireless interference. If this may not work you may want to adjust some settings on the advance wireless settings of the router like the beacon(set it to 50) and RTS/fragmentation(2304).

Problem with connecting ps2

Sorry, but i cannot see how your PS2 can possibly be able to communicate with your wireless usb dongle, because you need drivers to use it and you are not able to load anything onto a PS2. Besides all peripherals are not compatible with PS2's as they are not able to load drivers.
