When i turn on my harmon kardon avr 165 it shows ''Protect'' and then it turns off again?? what can i do :)

I would try disconnecting the speakers, then turn it on. If protect still shows with no speakers connected, then it needs to go to the repair shop- Might be a blown power transistor.

My Harmon Kardon AVR 2600 goes to protect mode when powered up. After many tries it will fire up but at times it's up to twenty times. I did load the software upgrade 6 months and it has been fine

Check all speaker wiring for shorts, if okay! there is a problem in the audio output stage of the unit or the protection circuit is not working properly. I would suggest a pro to evaluate.

Hi, I have a Harmon Kardon Model No. AVR 325 that keeps clipping. When I push the power button the display turns off like a second after I push power. Seems like its a easy fix. Nothing if fried visually...

it sounds like Amp burned, but not all burn parts you can see, you have to measure them by DMM. I guess at least one AMP transistor shorted. you can check SPK terminals by DMM DC, it can be easy to find different with other one

My receiver doesn't have a dedicated subwoofer output, can I still hook up a subwoofer? I have a harmon kardon avr 25

That would depend mostly on your subwoofer. There are some that slave off the front left and right speaker outputs and still pass the amp's power to the Front Speakers. That would be the only way that would ensure volume control.

Otherwise you have to feed a self-powered sub from the Tape Outs but that won't allow volume control from the H-K.

Harmon Kardon AVR 5

Assuming that the system is properly installed and was working ok before, the problem is usually a blown output amplifier in one channel and the receiver disconnects the speakers to avoid damaging them. In this case, professional repair is required.
