What is sunless tanning lotion?

Sunless tanning lotions contain an ingredient that stimulates the top layer of skin to create a darker color by creating brown color melanoids in the skin.

Whilst it might give you a good skin color, it's not a substitute for getting exposure to the sun and therefore Vitamin D.

SW reception is very poor. Can receive no Ham operators only powerful broadcasts like Havanna. AM not bad, FM fair.

SW transmission depends on an atmospheric layer called the ionosphere. The density of ionized atoms present in the layer is dependent on the light from the sun and on solar activity. The rule of thumb is to tune in to the larger meter bands ( 49m, 41 m, 31m, 25m ) in the evening and at night and the shorter meter (31m, 25, 21, ...16, 10) bands in the day.

To tune in to a particular signal you need to know the exact frequency and the broadcast time. You can search the Internet for the frequencies of a particular radio station and the times when that station is broadcasting in direction of your region.

Which is the hottest the sun or the core

The core is the hottest layer of the sun. Its temperature is nearly 15 million degrees F.The reason that the core is the hottest is due to the gravitational pressure.

This being said, there are individual spots in the corona of the sun which from time to time is known to be hotter than the core. The corona is an outer atmosphere of the sun (if you see a picture of a solar eclipse, the corona is typically the edge of the sun not covered by the earth).

Which layer of the sun is the hottest?and why?

Basic facts
  • Central temperature: 15,000,000 K
  • Surface temperature: 6,000 K
  • Distance from Earth: 150,000,000 kilometers (1 Astronomical Unit)
  • Size: 1,400,000 kilometer diameter
  • Mass: 2 x 10 30 kilograms (300,000 x the Earth's mass)
  • Average density: 1400 kg/m3(1.4 x water)
  • Solar energy reaching Earth: 1400 Watts/m2 (solar constant)
  • Total Luminosity of the Sun
    • equivalent to the energy flow through a sphere surrounding the Sun
    • The surface area of this sphere is 2.8 x 10 23 m2
    • So, the total luminosity is:
      • 1400 Watts/m2 x 2.8 x 10 23 m2
      • = 4 x 10 26 Watts

My sun visor on the driver's side just cracked and

I fabricated my own brackets for my 2004 Ford Explorer to mount (or should I say re-mount) my sun visors after they both crumbled and fell on us. I cut some thin metal (tin I think) and put 5 layers together to form the bracket. If there is any interest, I'll upload some pictures and instructions over the week-end to show how to install it. I'm thinking about offering to make these for $12+ shipping for one bracket or $20+shipping for a pair.
