Of course 18 is the correct answer. You can do anything to an equation as long as you do it to both sides. So to solve 9/4 divided by 1/8 multiply both sides by 8/1. The 1/8 portion becomes 8/8 which is 1. The 9/4 portion becomes 72/4 which of course equals 18.

No it isn't as 1,2,4,8 can be used to divide it prime's are only dividable by 1 or itself only

You can make equivalent fractions by multiplying or dividing both top and bottom by the same amount, but only multiply or divide, never add or subtract, to get an equivalent fraction.

I've only shown the fraction part of your question as 1 is a whole number.

1/2 = 2/4, or 4/8, or 8/16 or 16/32 or 32/64 & so on.

Going the other way, dividing 2/4 by 2 will give 1/2.

But, only divide when the top and bottom would still be whole numbers, for instance you wouldn't use divide for odd number fractions, for example 1/3 or 3/5 etc.

This calculator does not have a key that you can use to find the prime factor of an integer.

You can however use the calculator to find the factors

1.** If number is even divide it by 2**

Keep dividing by 2, while keeping track of how many times you divided by 2.

If you divided 5 times by 2 before getting an odd number, then your first factor is 2^5

2.**Now try dividing by 3**, keep track of the number of times you divided by 3 before you could not divide by 3 any more. If you divided 0 times by 3, your second factor is 3^0, or 1 and 3 is not a factor.

If you divided 4 times by 3, your second factor is 3^4

3.**Divide by 5,** until you can't any more. Keep track of the number of times you divided by 5.
