Question about Computers & Internet
My new TRAVELTEK TABLET IS not accepting my name and password. I had one that was returned because it died 40 days after purchase date so it was sent back. I got it last Thursday and it is not working properly either. I am out a tablet and the replacement isn't working either. Will someone send me an 800 number so I can talk to a person. I bought this from shopHQ.COM formerly shop NBC. I called them right away and they gave me no help because the 30 day period was over. What am I suppose to do?

I just got Vista and it killed my Intuos2 w/serial to usb also, but here's a half solution:
Download Wacom driver 4.78-6 http://www.wacom-europe.com/int/downloads/driver/driver.asp?lang=en. Make sure you remove any other Wacom drivers, tablet, and reboot. Install 4.78-6 driver and select serial port when the choice pops up. Plug in your tablet with the serial to usb adapter, wait a few seconds and click retry. Complete the install and reboot.
Your Wacom tracking should work now, but certain things might not work like pressure sensitivity and you'll get annoying error "reinstall driver" pop-ups.
I think you can aslo buy a PCI-serial card for your computer and skip the serial-usb adapter since Vista doesn't support the adapter for Wacom tablets.. but I'm not sure if there's a working Vista serial Wacom driver either.. or ever will be. The age of XP and Legacy support is at an end my friends.

Well... I contacted Wacom support and the guy who write back recomended me to change the nib, to turn 3 times the eraser and to hit 4 times with the pen onto your palm hand...
Of course I didn´t do anything like that, I mean, what´s that??? An spell of some sort (or what)???
But what I did was the following (MAC-OS user):
-Enter to the pen tablet options on your preferences
-Switch the sensitiveness of the pen to the hardest
-Run an app that work´s best with your tablet and make some lines to check if at least in this mode the pen works
-Return to your tablet preferences and adjust at your best
I can´t explain why but my stylus is working fine again...

I have same tablet and the biggest problem is USB cable!!!
USB able is made from bad materials and the plastic/rubbery coating of inner wires of USB cable is very easy to brake, then the wires inside of the cable get connected between them selves and all the problem that you have starts.
I had those problems and all was solved by changeing the USB cable.
Changeing the USB is litle bit problematic becous it is connected to the tablet by microconnector that is wery hard to find (for me it was inpocibile). Becouse I couldn't find the matching microconnector I connected new cable to the one on the old cable welding the wires to the ones on the microconector . AND IT WORKED!!!
You may consider to by new tablet becouse this may seam complicated, but for me it was an interesting thing to do and it payed out. Just watch out to connect all the wires properly!!!!!

I have encountered this message a few times, usually if I have tried to plug'n'play the tablet. A restart with the tablet connected usually fixes it for me, but I would suggest removing the driver and software and reinstalling them, making sure you have the most up-to-date version- freely available from wacom.co.uk (though I note you have the latest versions so just reinstall those).
I think, however, your problem might be something to do with the following note from wacom: Do you know if you are running a 64-bit setup? There may be a workaround even if you are, so do let us know.
