Your machine needs servicing. The feeddog mechanism is stuck most likely from lint or dirt in it. Pop off the needle plate and clean good there and inside the door to the bobbincase area. The mechanism is inside that door to the right an inch or so. Covers have to be removed to clean this properly. The height adjustment is inside in that same area also. Time for servicing.
Hope the top just needs a good cleaning. Good luck.

Feeddog singer stylist 776 how would the feeddog gt lowered

Consult the owner's manual. There should be instructions for how to darn with your machine. It would require either the feature that lowers/raises the feed dogs or a cover plate that attaches over the feed dogs.

If your machine came with the cover plate accessory, and the feed dogs are not rising to feed the fabric, then I suspect the machine has not been cleaned & oiled in quite some time and perhaps the feed dogs have seized. When you run the machine (remove the needle and presser foot), watch if the feed dogs actually drop below the needle plate, move toward the front of the machine, then rise above the needle plate and move toward the back of the machine. This is a repetitive motion that actually pulls the fabric through the machine. If this is not happening with your machine, it needs service.

I have a Necchi 537FA and I want to know what the knob (on the right hand side) with the dot and knit symbol does. This knob is the last one on the right hand side. Thanks in advance for the help.

I suspect the knob on the lower right hand side is the feed dog knob. The "knit" symbol is for the feed dog. One setting drops the feed dogs so you can move the fabric yourself, ie free motion quilting. The other setting raises the feed dogs so the machine will feed the fabric for you.

The stitching is stuck on 0 length

The first thing to do is make sure the feed dogs are supposed to be feeding the fabric through. Check the lever or button that raises and lowers the feed dogs. Make sure it is in the position for ordinary sewing. If it is not, then move it to the correct position. Then, without any fabric under the presser foot, turn the main shaft of the machine by hand and watch the feed dogs underneath the presser foot. Don't simply look down at the dogs. Lower your viewpoint so that you're looking from front to back just SLIGHTLY above the horizontal level of the sewing deck. While looking at the area right where the feed dogs are, watch to see if the dogs a rising SLIGHTLY above the level of the deck. If they aren't, and if the feed dog lever is in the correct position for ordinary sewing, then something is out of adjustment or is broken. If you are not mechanically inclined or if you are totally terrified of opening up your machine to take a look, you'd better take it to a shop and let them do it.

The needle moves up and down and the presser foot is lowered (and attached properly) but the fabric is not being pulled through.

Yes, there definitely could be something wrong, but there are some things you should check. Most machines are capable of raising and lowering the feed dogs; yours might be fully or partially lowered, so that while it moves, it's not far enough up to the surface to move the fabric. Using the lever or dial, LOWER it all the way, then RAISE it all the way, but you're not finished. It will still not raise until you turn the hand wheel TOWARDS you (ALWAYS towards you on every machine) at least one and possibly two revolutions. You'll then SEE and most likely HEAR it click up. I know someone who got a steal on a Brother marked defective because the feed dogs wouldn't raise, so she brought it home, turned the hand wheel two revolutions, and viola! The feed dogs raised!

Singer Sewing Machine model #2638 Does not feed fabric

Here is a link to page 22 of the manual. It shows you where to flip the lever to raise the feed dogs. If your feed dogs are not grabbing fabric your feed dogs are lowered.

My fabric wasn't moving so I lowered the feed dogs and now I cannot raise them. The button in the back of the machine moves both ways but the feed dogs are not moving. They are staying in the down...

Hello

Turn off the power. Remove the accessory compartment located in front of the machine, if applicable.

Open the hook cover that shields the bobbin area. Please note that you do not need to remove the bobbin case.

Locate the drop feed lever near the bobbin case. Some machines have the lever towards the back of the free arm. Press down on the lever and then move it to the next notch or position. The raised metal feed dogs should be visible through the openings on the needle plate. You may need to rotate the big balance wheel one rotation to engage the mechanism on some machine models. The metal teeth will then spring up.

Close the hook cover. Insert the accessory compartment, if applicable.

Turn on the power. Try test stitching a piece of fabric. The raised feed dogs should help guide the fabric under the presser foot.

Fabric Won't Move

I don't have this machine, but any machine I've had that you can lower or raise the feed dogs had the switch in the bobbin area. Mine is on the right side when you flip down the little door. It moves up and down to move the feed dogs. good luck
