Question about Heating & Cooling

Open Question

Riello problem My Riello F3 BRN 3 years old. After i turned it off for a couple of week I can't run it now. It starts purging, then ignites, runs for 2-3-5 sec. then turns purging again. In circle. Can't build the temp & pressure. Half tank of oil. Oil line filter changed 2 mounth ago. Cleaned pump filter. Changed capacitor. Changed photocell. Put in new nozzle, cleaned and adjusted electrods. I got the feeling, if i'll change control box - it will be the same - Nothing. Any ideas guys?

SOURCE: riello burner will not pump oil to nozzel to burn.

Revisit the photocell:
1. Check if you connected the socket end, into the two pins properly, as it is possible to miss a pin.
2. Try to borrow a working photocell or use yours in another burner to make a determination.

SOURCE: riello oil burner runs for 2 seconds and then stops ??

1. Take off the red cover which is held on by a screw.

2. Use an allan key to loosen the screw facing you.

3. Turn on boiler. The boiler will draw the oil through and bubbles of air will escape through the screw you have loosened.

4. When it is just oil coming through the cracks around the screw, re-tighten the screw and turn on again.

Riello burner

You need to measure the manifold pressures before and after the gas valve and adjust accordingly to fuel used, 3.5" NG or 11" Propane.

I have a riello 40 burner it fires for 2 seconds then cuts out what could be the problem

If it actually fires up and you have a flame for 2 seconds and then it shuts off, I'd bet that the photo cell is either dirty or has failed. If it is dirty, it suggests that the burner has been neglected for some time and probably is in desperate need of a tune up. The photo cell is located under the ignition transformer and is aimed into the combustion chamber to see the light created by the flame from the burning oil.

If it is clean, the photocell has likely failed and will need to be replaced. If it still runs the same way after photocell replacement, it is probably related to the primary controller or one of the other safety devices. Is this a forced hot air or hot water system?

Pilot light out....buderus furnace but a red riello ingniter on the front....I've watched my fuel guy flash a light into it this baby when out before but need to do it myself now.....could you walk me thru...

This is due to a "Lock-Out" Check your flame sensor for carbon build up. Possible heat exchanger blockage.
The reason he used a flashlight was to trick the burner into seeing a flame, not a good idea for a novice.

Riello oil burner problem - Furnce blower starts on thermostat call but Riello burner needs to be manually reset for ignition.

BUrners trip on safety for a number of reasons. When the burner is working you should not see any smoke in the smokepipe. If you do then the settings are off and adjustments need to be made. If the unit does not actually light then the problem can either be with the nozzle, the oil pump or filter. Lastly, you may not be getting spark. If you get more specific I may be able to guide you through step by step.

Riello 40 F5 oil burner, on boiler, intermittently running

with a forced draught burner the fan motor would be checked via a pressure switch. if the pressure switch is not set correctly or the fan is too weak the contacts will not be made in the switch and the burner will lockout. if the damper is not open enough when the fan runs then the air supply will be too small for the switch to make. check to see if you have a capacitor on the fan windings if this is faulty then the fan will fail intermittently.
