Question about Cameras
D80 with Nikon lense 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 VR. With VR mode on at 300mm, when press focusing button, even if already focus, there is sound of motor moving. However, if I go down to 250mm, the sound disappear. The picture look ok though. Then I try with VR off mode, it work fine at 300mm, no swirling sound. I just bought this lens as used in US. Is this normal?
Your motor maybe going bad. Try sending it to PhotoTech Repair Service in NYC. They are Nikon authorized, and can do the repair under warranty if you still have it. Also if you join they're facebook page, they will give you a 10% discount.
