SOURCE: KW-AVX710 Screen stays black (off) untill I hit the open button

So I decided to verify all the connections after I got frustrated with it. Everything was correct except one wire that was on the new harness I got that for my car that was labeled "12V fused" (supposedly the key on power source). I tested it with my volt meter and it did not have power at any time, even with the key on. The constant power source wire was hooked up so that's why I was able to open the face and eject CD's and DVD's but not do anything else (like when your ignition is off). So I ran a new wire from my fuse panel and everything works now. Just like my Thermodynamcis professor says "nullius in verba" (take no one's word for it), just because the wire was labeled doesn't mean it's right! Hope this helps.....

SOURCE: my kw-avx840 was showing a

The faulty wire was shorting on the ground. When that happened the current flowing thru the amplifier top which that wire was connected got severely overstressed. This is why the safety system was triggering. By reseting it you were just making the problem a lot worse - you were forcing the amplifier to run with its output shorted. So it was to be expected that it eventually failed - it severely overheated and it got shorted itself internally. Now it's the short in the amplifier the one that is triggering the error message. And because the short is on a critical part you can no longer reset it - the power source itself has shut down.
The radio will have to be dismantled and the failed final amplifier identified and replaced, a job for a pro - time to take it to an electronics repair shop.

You can try disconnecting the battery for like 15 seconds and it should restart your stereo and might work again good luck!

Jvc kw avx840 frozen on telephone screen. Press reset and everything works fine again until either detatch facia or switch off ignition.

Sounds very strange ... I have the exact same set. Try removing the Bluetooth dongle and re installing it again and see if this helps. Is this a new install? You r ground is good right? to the frame not just a black wire from old stereo you replaced?

My jvc kw-av60bt is stuck on telephone and av wont work

I know the correct answer! mmm just disconnect the brown mute wires on the wire harness if you read the brown wire it will say mute! that wire is for cars that have an integrated telephone so if you car doesn't have an integrated telephone then just disconnect the brown wires (mute) and tape them off and Voila! Walla! the Double din will work , I hope this helps!

Jvc kw-nx7000 not working after I tried to update the firmware

I just performed the update as well and ended up with the same issue. I'm hoping to drive my vehicle around to see if it will eventually detect the satellites.

I might recommend a couple of things. Not sure what JVC Support has recommended but you can try a hard reset. Button is located on the left bottom corner of the unit.

You could also attempt a factory restore. The option is located in the settings under your navigation menu.

Overall I like the unit as it seems to be a stable system., for customization and information related to what JVC considers to be propritory info absoultely sux!!! The backgrounds are hokey and screens could really use an overhaul. I have yet to find any really great solutions for working with the files and information and have started to learn on my own. Very slow going so far as I really don't want to brick the unit. If you or anybody else has a good solid recommendation other than the obvious for working into the file structure etc... please feel free to share!
