When you push the change sign (-) button, a number button, and any even power it returns a negative value.

In other words if you type -4^2 it will treat it like this:

-(4)^2 = -16

Even though any number to an even exponent should be even. To get around this any time you have an even power on a negative number type it like this.

(-4)^2 = 16

9 is also an interesting number because to see if 9 goes into a number evenly, you just add up the digits of the number and see if 9 goes into that number, 9 will go into the number evenly.

For example, to see if 7871847097401 is divisible by 9, let's add up the digits.

7+8+7+1+8+4+7+0+9+7+4+0+1=63 9 goes into 63 evenly, so 0 goes into 7871847097401 evenly. When you add up the digits and get 63, you can also add 6+3 to get 9 and 9 will go into 9 evenly, so 9 goes into 7871847097401 evenly.(p.s. The same process works for the number 3).

this would be explained on the basis of two FACTS below.......

sum of two odd numbers are always even and

sum of to even numbers are also always even

then how 6 odd numbers (consider 3 pairs, 9 5 3 1 being odd numbers) can make an odd number 21..!!
