The laser in my Hitachi 10 inch sliding Miter saw stopped working some time ago. It worked intermittently in year six, then eventually stopped working. Is there a solution?

Sounds like the trigger is shorted out. Un plug, remove trigger assembly and tie wires together. Plug in and saw should run constantly. If this works buy trigger assembly and replace. Wrap all exposed copper wires with electrical tape before plugging in. Green and bare copper wires are left alone.

Erratic starting circular saw

Sounds to me like you have a bad cord. Clamp the saw to a workbench so that it can start and run safely without you having to hold it. Put tape or a wire tie around the trigger to hold it in. THEN plug it in. Then move the cord around, especially near where it enters the saw. If the saw starts and stops intermittently you have confirmed the bad cord. Good luck.

My Maytag quietseries dishwasher fills then starts running then stops tries to runagain thenstops 4 times total then just shuts down.

Sounds like the thermal cut out in the motor is opersting. You mist see if the transmission turns freely
  • if it does then a new motor may be needed.
  • if not then there is a transmission fault
  • Then try a new machine.....
  • good lick

My Bosch 4000 table saw will not stay running, it starts then it will just stop. it is not tripping the breaker, any sujections?

The motor control electronc control board ($40.00)is the most likely culprit. When you replace the electronic speed control board be sure and replace the brushes also as they will have very tiny pitting damage ($5.00)
What happens is that when the motor cooling port sucks in the saw dust contaminants the motor brushes and armature develop an intermittent contact which damages the operational characteristics of the control board - so blow motor out often with compressed air to remove contaminants. Don't ever operate this saw without a vacuum saw dust evacuation system (Shop vac,Etc.)!!

Intermittent miter saw

In order of cost, for the likely problem.

Inspect the brushes to make sure that they are making good contact with the armature, this would make it run intermittently and are the most common and cheapest. Next would be the thumb switch, it reverses the polarity momentarily and causes the motor to brake. These are the most common reasons it won't run, especially if the brake is not working or being intermittent, the switch is the problem; and if this doesn't fix it, then I'd try the controller.

Hope this helps, if so, mark my answer please so I know if I've helped or not.

Label prints a tiny amount thenstops and displays ribbon error. Have rebooted the system and the printer (on/off).

Ribbon error: Remove the left side cover, and clean the ribbon motor sensor, located behind the plate that holds motors.

Husky 455 dies out at full throttle or under load

Your carb may be the issue but your ignition coil could be the culprit. Once they start going bad, they can act up intermittently or give various symptoms from day to day. The fact that your saw dies at full load or under load, probably means that when your saw gets hot or requires more spark, your coil is not able to provide it. Your carb is easy enough to clean out, you can take it all apart and clean all screens, etc....

I just replaced my coil due to the exact same symptoms and now my saw runs great. $60 off ebay and you can put it on in 15 minutes yourself. Check your carb first though
