SOURCE: dishwasher electronic panel locked

Good evening friends, I need your help. My Kenmore dishwasher's buttons are not working. The -lock- button keeps flashing and the manual says to hold the lock botton for few seconds and it will un-lock itself. I've done that several times but it will not work. The light goes off but goes back on again. None of the buttons seem to work either. I've called Sears but they require $75 just come in and look and that price does not include anything.....just the estimate. Can someone help me please before I dish out $500 for a new one? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

SOURCE: Fitting a new front panel to the NEFF 54432 integrated dishwasher

My Neff integrated dishwasher has two holding screws in the top corners and then two hidden screms half way down the side behind plastic covers. Loosen these side screws, remove the top two corner screws and then the door cover/panel should lift out of two lugs at the bottom.

SOURCE: Kenmore Elite Dishwasher 16939

I have the same model dishwasher with same problem. The gasket first came loose just after my warranty expired. The stainless steel and heat don't make for a good combination with the glue that holds the gasket in. My husband works with caulk and the like. He found a clear gel of some sort to get everything to adhere. It's had to be reapplied. I just make a habit of making sure the gasket is seated in its track and watching if dishes on top rack catch the gasket when I pull rack out.

See www.repairclinic.com, item #1065754, White silicone adhesive, specially formulated for use in the dishwasher to adhere tine tips & door gaskets. It's an accessory for this dishwasher. I don't know if Sears Parts Direct offers it. Sometimes their price is lower.

From above website it costs $14.55

SOURCE: My new Kenmore Elite panel ready dishwasher leaves wet

You need only enough space so the door does not rub when opened. If the unit is too far back under the cabinet the countertop (if wood) can be damaged by the exhausting moisture. The dry feature on the newer models is just as you describe. The moisture from the hotter dishes evaporates and is condensed on the cooler walls and door of the wash tub. Dry dishes wet tub is normal.

SOURCE: Want to replace dishwasher panel with stainless steel

Yes indeed! If you know the measurements, you can buy a stainless panel from www.applianceart.com cut to any size you would like. THey also have a cheaper "faux" stainless option too. Many colors and designs as well.

The door on my machine won't shut?

Hello

You will need to adjust the dishwasher door latch to fix the door if it will not close. The door latch can come out of alignment from use. Adjusting the latch assembly is a straight forward process on most models of dishwashers. First, remove the securing fasteners for the inner door panel. It is a good idea not to remove the inner door panel completely, just enough that you can access the door latch assembly.

Turn the dishwasher circuit breaker off inside your home electrical panel. Open and close the door and watch where the strike plate makes contact with the door. The strike plate is usually on the front top center of the dishwasher. If the strike plate is out of alignment, it will hit the inside of the door.

Pull the dishwasher out of the counter enough that you can access the strike plate securing Torx screw. You may need to open your dishwasher door and remove the two screws that secure the dishwasher mounting bracket to the bottom of the counter with a Phillips-head screwdriver to pull the dishwasher away from the counter.

Loosen the Torx screw that secures the strike plate to the washer tub with a Torx driver. Adjust the strike plate so the plate will engage the door latch. Retighten the Torx screw and push the dishwasher back under the counter. Secure the brackets to the counter if your dishwasher uses retaining brackets.

Adjust Door Latch

Open the dishwasher door and remove the Torx screws securing the inner door panel to the outer door panel with a Torx driver. The retaining screws are usually around the side edge and top edge of the dishwasher door.

Lift the inner door panel enough that you can loosen the two securing bolts on the door latch with a wrench. You only need to loosen the bolts, not remove them.

Carefully raise the dishwasher door to align the door latch with the strike plate. Hold the door latch with your finger tips when you align the latch. Lower the door and tighten the door latch securing bolts.

Install the inner door panel retaining screws and tighten all screws with the Torx driver. Close the dishwasher door and turn on the circuit breaker.

How to remove the access panels....
There are many different styles of dishwashers built today. One of these should point you in the correct area's to look for the screws that hold the access panels on the dishwasher. Remember, remove power first.
The most common configuration of the access panels used today...
dwaccess.jpg
This is the newer "over sized" door, looks like a one panel front, but there still is small access panels on the very bottom....
dwaccess2.jpg
Some Asko Dishwashers....
2 Torx # 20 screws hold the toe plate on. Once toe plate is off, 2 Torx screw hold the lower panel on and the 2 brackets the hold the toe plate on have a springy locking tab, press the tab away from the bracket and the brackets will pull straight out. The service panel has 4 or 6 Torx screws holding it on, 2 are pointing up in the corners.

Motor and pump assembly screw and impellor help....

One of the most common question that I get on a dishwasher repair is "how does that motor and pump impellor screw come out?"
Inside many dishwasher pump assemblies is a screw that goes through the upper impellor and screws directly into the motor shaft. Since the motor shaft and screw are made of metal...you guessed it...they can / will rust. The screw can rust and become very tight and difficult to remove!! These screws are normally a right ( regular ) hand thread, socket or nut driver can be used to remove the screw. One hard thing to do is to hold the impellor still so the screw can be removed, they often just turn together. The impellor may be jammed with a screwdriver to hold it still so the screw can be removed...sometimes the impellor can be help still by placing a rag on it and hold tight with your hand, the rag will help prevent a sharp edge on the impellor from cutting your fingers. The odd time that screw is too rusted into place, soaking a little rust buster or 3in1 oil on it over night may help loosen it. Sometimes trying to tighten the screw a little at first will help break it free. There are some tool that can be purchased to help hold the impellor stillso the screw can be removed, these are only for a few models and pump assembly styles.

Anymore questions ask.

The door for the detergent will not open. How do

open door. take out all screws (usually torx) remove FRONT panel. you will see the "wax" motor. and that my friend is your problem.

if you actually know how to use a VOM, you will know how to test the motor, if not. call a technician before attempting any repairs yourself. 120volts is no joke.

Kenmore Dishwasher 665.15789300 not washing, but gets water

The chopper blade assembly with in the pump housing is either clogged or broken, to get to it, you must remove spray arm and remove screws from filter housing. These are size 20 torx, inside sump are 2 more screws size 15 torx, after these are removed you can clean out chopper or replace it.

Door won't close

first see if under the counter it a metal catch sticking out and make sure it is lined up to go into the hole in the door. if it is then look in the hole on the door and if you see a small white piece sticking up you may be able to stick a screw driver in to push it back in place. .if not then you have to take all the torx screw out of the door panel at the top i believe its either 6 or 8 screws then try and pull the panel off.. if it doesnt come off then you will need to take the las 4 torx screw out and seperate the inner door panel from the outer door panel and you will see everything you need. let me know if you need any clarification.

Leaking from the bottom a lot, immediately when I start the cycle

I found this post on another website. Hope it helps:

"Six torx screws securing the fine mesh filter just below the lower spray arm. Make sure they're all tight. Bit size is T 20 also, check for damage to the mesh screen. What happens when those screws are loose is water pressure seeps under and creates a tidal wave sort of effect by spraying water forward instead of thru spray arm...long shot, but I've seen it 50 times."

How to get to the control panel

Bosh is very tricky. You will probably have to remove the outer door panel first. #15 Torx screws all around the inside of the door panel. Support the panel with your feet while you remove the bottom two screws. (Do those last!) Close the door. Then slide the door panel down about 1 in and pull away at the bottom. Notice the two plastic blocks near the bottom of the door and how they fit onto the door frame (they never stay in place!)
If the console is not loose already, remove the two #15 Torx screws on the upper sides of the door panel.
When putting it back together, put in the screws across the top of the console first, then the door panel, then the rest of the screws.
Good luck!
