The first thing I would do is check your door switch. When the door closes it hits a switch to tell the machine it's safe to start.

Hope this helps!?

GE elect dryer is cutting off prematurely after 10-20 minutes no matter what setting on timer we use. I'm guessing it's a heat sensor but i don't know where it's located. Model #...

It could be a high limit overload, but the cause may be a blocked air vent. You can remove the dryer vent in the back and see if the problem stops, this will tell you if the vent is blocked or not. Ryan

GE electric dryer (model #DDE5300BBLAD) won't start when I hit the start switch. I do hear a noise when I hit the start switch...stops when I release the switch.

the sound you hear is the motor trying to start.reach in drum and turn clockwise 1 revolution.try to start it again,if it starts your motor is starting to go bad and will have to b e replaced soon.if you canrt turn thje drum you probably have something stuck in blower below lint filter .hope this helps .please rate my response:)

Dryer stopped working mid-cycle.

I presume she pushed the start button again. Can you hear the motor running? If so, it's a broken belt. The door switch can fail anytime. If the dryer started ok later, the motor was overheated. Lighter loads will avoid a lot of problems, and the dryer will probably work better.

Need some assistance with a DDE7200SBLWW/model ge dryer

If the dryer is getting hot but not turning, you most likely need a new drum belt. If the belt is ok then you will need a new motor.

Hi! msbjs
Sound like this could be a motor problem. Is there a lot of lint inside the dryer and around the motor?
