Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: white screen problem in acer aspire 4710

You will have to disconnect and reconnect the video signal plug located under the upper cover (the one with the power button on it). Best you start with a screwdriver in the very corner).

Additionally I removed a small magnet located under the lid cover (remove 6 screws under rubber placers and lift the lid), which I found next to the video cabling. This could have affected the video signal negatively. Lets see how long this fix lasts.....

SOURCE: Blank Screen Acer Aspire 5920

im afraid that your screen is broken, but try to move the screen foward and backward littlebit, my friend also have the same problems and only by contact local support using his warranty the problems fix, you may open your laptop to see if something wrong with the wire but i think its not practically good.

SOURCE: acer aspire one model ZG5 does not boot

After a normal restart yesterday, my Aspire One booted into just a black screen. No POST, no BIOS, no hard drive light activity, just the power button LED on and the fan running fast. I was not very happy…

I went to the Acer Aspire One User Forum and started looking thru the Hardware section. I found this thread Dead aspire one and it looked like many others had a similar experience. After reading many stories of warranty repair or replacement, I was just about to dig up my receipts when I found this post: Re: Dead aspire one.

It seems that a lot of people had success reflashing the BIOS from a USB drive using tools provided by Acer. I don’t know if it’s officially supported by Acer or if it will void your warranty, but if the computer’s a paperweight now anyway, what the hell?

It’s very easy to do, but the steps are a bit unclear so here’s my attempt to make the whole thing painless. This worked for me, but it might not for you, so do this at your own risk.

You need:
A working USB thumbdrive you can erase. I used an old 64meg.
UNetbootin. Download from here: http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/
The files to flash the BIOS. I used the most recent version from here: http://sites.google.com/site/maclesblogspotcom/

Download all the files to an easy to find location.

Steps to prepare the USB drive:
Format the USB drive using the FAT file system, not FAT32.
Start UNetbootin and choose FreeDOS as the distribution. Screenshot here.
Unzip the BIOS files and copy them to the USB drive
Make a copy of the BIOS file and rename it as ZG5IA32.FD (this appears to be very important - my reflash failed until I did the copy & rename)

Reflash the BIOS:
Make sure the AAO is turned off, the battery is attached and the power adaptor is plugged in.
Insert the USB drive
Press and hold FN + ESC and press the power button to turn it on. Release the Fn & ESC keys. The LED in the power button will flash.
Press the power button again once and wait. Mine took ~3 minutes, but I’d advise that you let it sit there for at least 5 minutes just in case your’s takes longer.

When the reflashing is done, the AAO will reboot and, hopefully, you’ll be back to normal.

If it doesn’t work, try reflashing again. The keypress sequence is a little tricky.

If the second try doesn’t work, then you’ll probably have to send it off for repair.

Good luck!!!

If it is an upgrade problem, I think you need to install the Windows from scratch (not an upgrade option).

Why does my acer aspire laptop have a black screen?

This could be a failing hard drive or failing RAM. The easiest and cheapest fix is the RAM. replace your RAM with some new sticks. It is easy and a lot cheaper than a hard drive with Operating System re-install. Which could also mean a loss of personal data (photos and videos) When your computer is working, back up your personal data as soon as you are able.

My laptop will not start

Hello,

If this is the first time that you turn on your laptop after resetting it to the factory settings then don't do anything while setup is starting services because you will just mess up the computer. It's really gonna take time to start the services. It's still in the set up process - it's loading some files on it.

I hope this helps!

Acer aspire 741Z can not get it to go thru the whole system recovery

Seems that your notebook's hard drive was physically damaged due to the shock it got after your notebook fell. Try a replacement hard disk.

Hi i have an acer aspire 5720 but the login screen won't come on

Hi.
The Acer Aspire 7520 is a very poorly desiged laptop i also have one which is broken atm.

The best thing you could do is to Refomat and install a fresh copy of windows

You shoud have two recovery disk that you should have burned as soon as you got the laptop.

Put Disk 1/2 into the drive.
Boot up your computer and press ATL+F10 atleast three times.
-Follow the on-scree
n instructions and soon you will be asked to put in the disk 2/2.

At the final phase you will be asked to put in disk 1/2 again...Wait awhile untill everything is install and finished loading and your computer will restart with Facory Defualt Settings.

Please Rate. Thanks

Laptop again lol

Is this a Windows password after the machine boots, or is this a bios or power on password before booting to the windows screen? If it's a Windows password, try running a system repair with your recovery or operating system disc. If it's a bios password get back to me and I'll send you a couple of links. In order to clear a bios password you'll need to Contact Dell support. The links will help only if it's a bios password. Let me know.
