Frigidaire Electrolux aeq6000es1 heats but sometimes doesn't heat when drying clothes why is this happening

Hello friend, thank you for your inquiry!

I understand that your Frigidaire dryer heats and will occasionally not heat when drying the cloths. This could be a possible issue with your thermostat or control board. I would recommend performing a reset on your dryer and you can do that by disconnecting the power cord from it for at least ten minutes. If that does not help resolve your issue you may need to have a professional technician out to perform a proper diagnosis and repair. This will help your avoid any unnecessary part purchases. -Matt

Here's more pix on YouTube. Get your screwdriver out and go at it. You'll never learn any younger. Write down and/or label where EACH wire goes as you disassemble. Just remember SAFETY FIRST. NO POWER while you're working on this ! UNPLUG is enough, there is no residual voltage on a dryer. Best help may be on YouTube. ask for (type in) Frigidaire Electric Dryer repair. There are several videos, one of which should serve to give you courage and a starting point if you've never done it before.

Dryer is occasionally leaving rusty looking smudge marks on clothing.

don't open door (stop dryer) until cool-down and dryer stops. many times the heating element is still hot and when you stop the dryer in the middle of the cycle, the rear of the dryer where the heating element is, will scorch your clothes.

IT WILL NOT HEAT. how do i remove the heating element to replace

Is it gas or electric? It could have a bad timer, heating element, power problem, circuit breaker could have tripped, or blown fuse or burnt wires inside dryer. I believe the top pops off from inserting a screw driver between the top and front dryer frame and pushing in 2 clamps located near each side. Then the front unscrews from the inside. Or a bottom panel might come off same way underneath the door.

Dryer has no heat

either your heating element or your thermostats are bad. on the heating element casing there are two thermostats. check the top one for continueity if it doesn't have continueity the change both thermostats. if they are good then check your heating element for continueity. after you get your dryer heating then clean out your vent system... if it's not venting properly then your dryer will take a long time to dry.

No heat when drying clothes. Where is the fuses on a dryer

Hi,
There are two thermal fuses, but if the fuse has gone - there will be another fault Replacing them without sorting the fault will only lead to them going again.

Fuses will blow if -
  1. The fan motor stops working
  2. The vents are blocked
  3. The heating element overheats
  4. There is an electrical fault
These need checking first.

The fuses are usually clipped into a metal frame over the heater coil - which is on the top of the drum.
Disconnect the machine and remove the top cover to see them.
Look for a picture of replacements online so you know what to look for.
