Question about Teledyne Laars Pool & Spa
I have a Teledyne-Laars natural gas, 125k BTU pool/spa heater that pops quite loudly on the low pump cycle. It does not pop on the high cycle. The heater works fine, except for the unsettling noise. Is there any way to correct this issue?

Do you replace the thermopile or check the milivolts?
Check the Pressure gas
You need replace all of them terminals and check again the milivolts at the gas valve

Check your heater by-pass valve and be sure it is almost closed. If not that then it will be your internal by-pass. These will force water through heater and keep it from overheating the water inside it and shuting it down. Also check to be sure the baskets are clean and the filter is clean.

Try the owners manual for these pool heaters. They have a detailed troubleshooting guide that should let you know what you need to do.
