How can I prevent my Saltwater aquariums from accumulating so much salt on the outside of the tank.I have to clean saltwater build up at least every 3 days.I have a 125 Gallon and also a 55 Gallon Sal

I am no expert on saltwater tanks, but I am wondering what temperature you are keeping the tanks. The water evaporation rate of the tank depends on the temperature and humidity of the room the tank is in. Lowering the tank temperature to around 70-72 `F and increasing the ambient humidity to 60+% RH will reduce evaporation which will result in less salt encrustation.

When do I need to use a glass shield for my aquarium lighting?

When you are using a metal halide a glass shield is a necessity. Metal halides get really hot and one drop of water could cause the bulb to explode. A glass shield would also filter out the UV rays.

Are all aquariums made out of glass? We want to buy an aquarium for our home but I don't know much about what to look for.

No. Although many aquariums are made of glass, some are made from acrylic plastic. While glass aquariums are cheaper per gallon and harder to scratch, acrylic versions weigh less and are harder to break. You need to consider all of the advantages and disadvantages of each and then make your decision.

Is glass or acrylic better for a saltwater aquarium?

There is no definite winner here. It is truly a matter of choice. I think the main argument against acrylic isthat it scratches easily. It also is much lighter than glass so will therefore requirea much lighter stand. However, it isimportant to note that glass is heavier so it tends to support more. Essentially, it comes down to the ofyour tank. If you have a small tank, Isuggest acrylic. If you have a largetank, I suggest you get glass.
