Good evening, I have an RCA D56W20B rear projection TV, intermittently it is shutting itself off. Just now I turned it on, came on for 10 seconds then turned off, this repeated 4 times, but now is functioning fine for over 10 min. Any ideas?

It has you Posted as a projection TV and Not DLP, if Fan to Lamp stops running set will shut off to protect Lamp,I had a DLP that would play sometimes 30 mins then shut off drove me crazy trying to firgure it out and it turn out to be Fan would stop running I replaced Fan TV working fine . When you remove back engage toggler switch to up position put a piece of tape on it to hold it is a safty switch ,then turn tv on watch to see if all fans are running also if when tv trys to come on is there a spark coming from Ballast Board if so your new Lamp is defective it does happen if not your ballast board maybe Bad it is what turns on Lamp.If all fans are running Ballast Board.
the problem is vertical collapse,i am not so sure you can trouble shoot this on your own but you can send the board to eithor pts electronics or tristate module for repair
to get a price get the number off the sticker--left hand board(looking from the back) it will start CTC195---- write down entire number before you call them
If it played OK before you replaced the video board and now you have an intermittent problem Suspect the part that was replaced...Does this set have a video board? I can't find one on my parts list. Also there are a lot of ISSUES with aftermarket lamps not working properly on hi bright pictures. I can find out correct part #'s with complete model #.
