For a while my TV was having a power up issue, when the TV would begin to power on it would automatically turn off again?? After unplugging and plugging back in it would tend to work for a while. For now the TV will power on fine but the vertical hold will not, I guess you would say "hold the picture" in place? The vertical hold switch seems to be of no help in adjusting or "holding" the picture in place.
Also would you might know where to get repair manuals for this TV.
Thanks in advance for any assistance or advice you can give :)

We've seen something similar in our shop on Hisense TV's, and considering Sharp sets are made by Hisence it may be related. The issue we have found was the balling of the prosessor IC was bad, a replacement main may fix it, or you can try "cooking" the board in an oven, see some youtube videos on how to do this
your Samsung TV is experiencing issues such as sound but no picture, you can reset it by unplugging it and holding the power button for 30 seconds. If you're having issues turning your TV on, you may need to unplug it for 30 seconds and plug it directly into an outlet that you know works properly. You can also try pressing and holding the power button on your remote until the TV turns off and on again. If the issue persists, please contact Samsung Support for further assistance.

Vertical jumping may have a vertical hold issue, horizontal may have a horizontal hold issue. Most older tv sets will have some knobs or adjustable screws for vertical and horizontal hold. Turn your set on and check for these knobs on the back of your set and adjust until your picture is in as well as you can get it
Eh, I can't be too sure, but it sounds like it's either a heat issue, a signal issue, or a backlight issue. Either way, if it's still under warranty I'd send it in.
usually is an issue with the power supply or power inverter for the tv. basically one of the capacators is not holding a charge like it should and is causing the power to drop. contact a repair technition or begin looking for a new tv.

Before trying anything else try resetting the TV to the factory specs. To do this simply turn the TV on using the power button on the TV while holding the reset button on the remote. While you are still holding the reset button the TV should turn itself off then back on again.
Go to the last page of troubleshooting in the manual and perform the system reset procedure. Basically hold the Wega "arrow up" as you manually switch the TV off. It will automatically switch back on and reset. I had only vertical colored lines on the screen, with audio but no response to any remote control functions. The rest worked perfectly.
The sync is automatic. There are no knobs to turn. If the picture is rolling, look first to the source connection and make sure your tv has a solid vertical sync connection. If you are using the RF input then the issue could be within your small signal board also known as the SSB. Good luck.
Sounds like the CRTs are going into protective blanking due to the vertical output ic needing to be resolderd. Try resoldering the vertical IC that may possibly fix the issue.
