If you have all your items saved to your computer with Active Sync, then do a master reset:
HTC Touch hard reset 14 January 2008
It has the latest and great updates, software, even known issues if you ever come across this. HTC does recommend that you do a master/hard reset once a quarter to keep it moving smoothly. Also, ensure you don't have a lot of open running programs. Perhaps once a day, clean the cashe and history. Do a soft reset (aka battery pull) once or twice a week. All depends on how hard you play with this lovely PDA device!

SOURCE: frozen screen on lg lotus phone
I am on my 3rd LG Lotus and have had the exact same issues with my screen with all of them...freezing up, blank/black screen, and the picture being all scrambled, or even funky colors. This is all due to LG's brilliant design of the hinge on the phone. Notice how when you have the phone open the top part (with the screens) has a bit of give in it if you push on it? That "give" is the hinge pinching the wire that supplies electricity/data to the screens. LG has designed the hinge so poorly that it cannot withstand normal wear and tear of being opened and closed for even a few weeks before it begins to fail. Shame on you LG!! I smell a lawsuit coming on.....
As far as a solution, there isn't really one except for get a new phone if you can. Maybe even get the warranty on it (something like $7 a month plus a crazy deductible between $50-$100). After fixing it 1 or 2 times, you could have purchased a different phone. This is really upsetting because the Lotus is such an awesome design. LG, I hope you are reading this.

SOURCE: screen frozen
Try a hard reset first. (menu and on/off button together for 5sec) if it boots again, but then doesn't repspond touch sensor screen needs replacement. Take it to the apple store and
see if they'll give you a replacement. If they don't there are third
party iPhone Repair Services that can fix it for you. There are also free iPhone Repair guide that show you how to fix it yourself.
