Need troubleshooting hodedah/phone line

Need to know difference between model#Bellacor851331 model#Bellacor851327 because I see difference of 33LBs between the two models and both are the same dimensions, need to speak to someone because I want to order one and the person I spoke with could not help me.Is it because one is more sturdier than the other thank you / E Mail address marilynvoisine@snet.net thank you

First of all, call your carrier. They usually have troubleshooting assistants who can first determine if the issue is with their towers or your account in any way. If they determine it is not with there equipment, they can troubleshoot the phone itself or send you to the manufacturer's troubleshooting line. Most phone companies have contracts with phone manufacturers and can send you over to the manufacturer's troubleshooting line for no cost.

PHONE HAS A LOUD "HUM"


First of all you should try to narrow down and isolate the problem a bit.

The "hum" can be caused by either the phone itself, or by a fault somewhere in the service line or in the house wiring.

The easy way to troubleshoot this is to take another known working phone and plug it into the exact same phone jack that the problem phone was in. Report back whether the second phone had a hum in it as well. If so then the problem is probably not in the phone itself.

Also try plugging the problem phone into a known working phone line, preferably at another residence. See if the phone operates normally on another different line.

Other possible causes of this fault are a bad patch cord which runs from your phone to the plug in the wall. Try a different cord to see if the problem goes away.

If the unit is a cordless model, then the problem may be weak batteries. Try letting the unit fully charge before testing to see if that makes a difference. If the handset battery does not hold a charge for more than a few minutes, then just replace it with a new one.

Also do not place a cordless phone / base too close to another wireless device like another cordless phone, microwave, or a wireless router. The interference between the two can cause poor reception.

If you have many phones in your house, try unplugging a few to see if the signal improves in the problem one. Having too many phones plugged into one line can reduce the quality of the telephone signal and cause poor performance.

Please, I want a comprehensive journal that teaches all about phone repair and steps on trubleshooting


Good Day,
I have been a cellphone repair tech for 8 years already, and I dont think there exists any journal that teaches on how to troubleshoot.
There are manuals for each individual phone, for example, Nokia has 1000s of models and they have different parts, troubleshooting steps,repairing steps, so there are also 1000s of different manuals just for Nokia phones, one specific manual for one specific model.
Therefore, If you want to become a tech on mobile phones, the best thing to do is to enroll at a course specially for cellphone techs, there you will learn all the basics and all you need to know about phones,EVERYTHING related to them, and how to READ and UNDERSTAND the manuals of each different phone models out there.
Trust me, just learn the basics and it will be easy to adapt and repair or troubleshoot ANY phone model, and later on you might not even need any manual.
If still you insist that all you need is a comprehensive journal that teaches you how to repair phones, be ready to buy so many manuals and be prepared to look for them (for they are not readily available for non- techs).
and I would like to impose this on you, I think it would be more practical and more cheaper to enroll and study at school of techs than to buy all manuals for each model, because there are 1000s of them and secondly you might not even understand the schematics, terminologies, ic locations, programs,flash files that are to be mentioned on manual and service manuals.

I have an emergency and my phones are reading ''line in use'' please help me


unplug all phones on the lines and everything else possible plugged in , then try using a different home (wired) phone to one jack. if it is okay, one wire or phone is bad. then try different phones one at a time to see if it clears. this will troubleshoot which part is bad. let me know.

If there are two RJ-11 jacks on the fax machine you need to make sure that the line from the wall is plugged into the LINE jack not the TEL jack. If that is not it let me know and I will provide you some troubleshooting instructions from the factory service manual.

Can't receive a fax but can send one. My machine model number is MFC-9700


There are three different receive modes for your MFC. You may choose the mode that best suits your needs by pressing the receive mode repeatedly until the LCD shows the setting you want to use

if the setup is only for faxing no other telephone lines on the line then select fax only.

if there is a telephone on the same line your gonna want to select Ext.Tel/Tad

if you are wanting to control the phone line and must answer every call yourself by uing a external phone select manual

manual you can use with distinctive ring as well so you can know what is a fax and what is a phone call.

let me know if this works or not please describe your setup if further troubleshooting is needed.

Try other different searches. There are many manuals for different models. I don't know which is yours. If you let me know what the exact model(s) of the phones are. I'll try to get the exact manual(s) that you need. Try this one though. You can jus do the searches yourself, though. Just type the name and model in the search box like this.

For example:

KX-TG6071M 5.8 GHz talking caller id not working


Hi trinigirl, You should not have to do anything to make the caller id information come through. There is no programming to perform for the regular caller id identification on your display after the second ring (it takes at least one ring cycle for the digital information to pass through). Your model also has the talking caller id function, which will announce in English the callers name or a custom name you can prepare in the phone book of handset number 1. With all that said, you are not getting caller id showing after the second ring, then your phone is bad (which is pretty rare for this symptom), or your phone line still does not have caller id activated. To troubleshoot your problem you need another phone line with working caller id and/or a different phone that is known good to pass caller id. That way you can interchange the phones/lines to see if it is your line or your phone. My guess it is your line somehow, though I have fixed phones that won't pass caller id, but rarely. If it is your phone, try rebooting it, thats about all you can do short of sending it in for repair. Let me know how it goes. CG
