More history on this unit. This unit is 5 years old and has about 20 hours total of operating time. It worked great 2 years ago and I did not use it last year. The service person this year checked the unit and said it was low on freon and also checked for leaks which he could not find any. He recharged the unit and it is still blowing cool air. No electrical problems with the unit.

Hi,

Just because the big one is cold and the small one is warm,Doesn't tell you if the system is properly charged or properly working. It is true that the big line will be cold and have condensation on it and the small one will be hot and dry,But this occurs in a wide pressure range,so the system could still be improperly charged. The charge in the system is based on the ambient temperature,The size of the system,The line footage,Etc............ So without a set of gauges and the ambient temperature,You can't really check anything but whether or not the unit comes on

Everything may sound like its running. the condensor fan is running outside, but your compressor might not be. w/o a running compressor, no cold air.

depends on your capacitor if that could be your problem. some start your fan and compressor, some have 2 to start each one. with out touching anything inside, take your service cover off on your outside unit. if you see the silver cylinder and the top is bubbled up, its your capacitor. dont touch it, it holds a charge and will shock you. Try flipping your ac breaker off and then back on. it may have tripped with all the power surges you have had. Check the fuse box, first and see if the switch is tripped. With the power off, put your hand on the compressor, if it feels hot, then it's running, and you have lost charge. Do not let the system run like this.

If the compressor is air temp, then I'd check the wires to make sure it has not come undone or broken.
A very common springtime problem is a bad capacitor. If the outdoor unit's fan is running but the compressor is not, my first inclination would be a bad capacitor. The Suction line is the larger of the two, and the smaller is a liquid line. That said the ruber you refer to is insulation and does a very important job so do not remove it . I need to know if the outside unit is clear and free from obstruction and debris? have you noted any other worring sgns lately? ie is this system constantly running? Thanks for contacting Fixya

How do i get my soleus air conding unit to blow cold air, its blowing cool air. can i recharge this unit myself -if so then what type of freon would i use.

most likely have to install a line tap valve to charge. look for oil residue on lines to indicate leak. the evaporator is the weak point on most a/c systems.

Can a fedders air conditioner A7Y15F2A-E be recharged?

Hello, anytime the unit does not blow out cool air I like to start with checking the airflow, check the filter and the evaporator coil for a buildup of dirt. If that check out ok then either the unit has a refrigerant leak or the compressor is not operating if the compressor is running than the unit is low on refrigersnt and can be recharged. In order to recharge the unit a piercing valve must be installed on the low side of the system, most window units do not have valves so one must be added to be able to charge the unit.

II started up my 1060 two days ago. The fanis working properly but Idon't get any cold asir. A service person rechareged the coolan but still no cold air. I have unplugged it for the time being

The service person shouldn't be recharging the refrigerant unless they have found and repaired a leak. Or do you mean an antifreeze solution that is pumped round the system? If so the service person should have checked the cooling system was working before adding coolant.

Can an LG LWHD1200 HR be recharged? If so, where are the service valves? Heat works fine...not blowing cold air

Hello, the unit can be recharged but piercing valves must be added to the high and low sides of the system in order to recharge. They are valves that piercebthe tubing and gauges can be attached to add refrigerant. Here is a link to where you van buy piercing valves http://www.centurytool.net/14809_Robinair_Easy_Tap_1_2_5_8_Line_Tapping_Valve_p/ro14809.htm

This portable air conditioner is not blowing cold air, mildly cool at best, the filter is clean coils in ok /cleaned shape duct to window in great shape no tears... what can I do? also can these be...

I think you are on the right track , it sounds low on charge. It can be recharged but almost every unit that is portable requires a licensed person to do the repairs because you have to cut into the lines and add access valves then evacuate the system then recharge it. This can be at a high cost too.Good luck

Window air cond unit, several years old, doesn't blow as cold

The problem with window units and any service tech will tell you it cost more to repair than you can buy at Walmart or home depot. Unless you know someone who can charge it for you. Window units are a sore subject. A 200 dollar window unit might cost 200 dollars to charge system. SORRy rusty

No cold air

You have a leak in the system sounds like a big leak should be easy to find. But in this case better get a Licensed Heating and Air person. They can find the leak and silver braze it and recharge the unit. let me know how it turns out. ken

Problem with GE Zoneline 5200 model

Heat pumps have saftey circuits that prevent liquid flooding of the compressor. Inadequate airflow across the evaporator in cooling can trip this circuit. Have your package unit serviced with particular attention to cleaning the evaporator coil and be sure your filters are clean and changed frequently in the summer months. Hope this helps GL!
